Usually a designer shows anywhere from 75 items of clothing to over 100 and throws in a few wild items for audience and Press reaction to make the show interesting. Many of these items never go into production. Buyers usually purchase from the conservative end of a collection. Like you see at the end of many designers' shows the wedding dress as a closing piece yet never see that item after the show.

Nearly every comment on this blog makes me sad. These girls are all beautiful. I have a feeling that all the haters are over weight, boring women or equally boring men with no taste at all. I suggest they all watch an episode of the "Girls next door" or Baywatch to cheer them up.

Or they are people that recognize that starved bodies are just as unhealthy (read the health lit) as morbidly obese people. And it is not sexy to starve yourself

The fashion industry should be ashamed. There are starving people in this world, there are children dying from malnutrition, and these people starve themselves for money. These people are sick in the head all of them.

I am sorry that this is the opinion you have of the fashion industry. Just because these girls are thin does not mean they are starving themselves. Their breasts are not fakes just very beautiful and they are very lucky to have them! I work in the fashion industry and I am also a slim person as I have been all my life. Ignorant people will walk up to me and openly declare I have an eating disorder or ask me why I am so thin. I find it very rude and I can't imagine going up to a large person and saying why are you so fat!! I am very healthy and I take care of myself.
Most of the models you see are not even 20 and their short careers will soon be over . They are required to be slim as it makes the clothes look better to sell. I am not naive enough to believe that they are all naturally thin...YES some girls starve themselves but you can tell and a good agent will get them help.
On a final note Coco Chanel's fit models were always very slim. If you ever get the chance to take a look at some of her vintage samples you will see this.

why waste so much money on high-priced models who starve themselves to look malnourished. might as well pick undernourished girls from poor nations for half the price! would do a lot more good than this shameless exploitation of glamor-struck young women.

What i don't get is why they are making these women wear ugly clothes, making them flash their sometimes hideous breasts an then making their faces so appallingly scary and ugly! The women look shell-shocked or mean or angry. There isn't a single one of these images that inspires awe.
