Basic questions for Secretary Clinton to ask:

What did Israel do to civilians in Gaza with U.S.-supplied weapons, especially White Phosphorus and DIME?

What nuclear weapons does Israel possess? Are the same people who unleashed Israel's arsenal of advanced weaponry on Gaza civilians the same people who control the use of Israel's nuclear weapons?

When will Israel sign the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty? (Iran is a signatory.)

U.S. law is clear: it bans foreign aid to countries that either do not sign or fail to obey the NPT. But somehow more than $3 billion in funds gets from Washington to Israel (illegally?) every year without a word of protest on Capitol Hill. When will Israel sign the NPT? (When will the U.S. State Department and Congress abide by its own law? Symington Amendment of the Arms Export Control Act prohibits most U.S. assistance to any country found trafficking in nuclear enrichment equipment or technology outside of international safeguards.)

Why is Israel continuing to build illegal settlements?

When will Israel end its occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people?

How do you determine when you have become morally bankrupt? When you deny food to a child? When you prevent those who want to help from doing so?

Everyone stop dreaming! I take back all the compliments I gave Hillary yesterday thinking she was exercising a new tough policy with Israel. In fact, I think it's all show and political posturing as usual:

Go to Palestinian Territories section and Read A.Wright's article "Rebuilding Gaza through..." then read article on pullout fromracism conference. Sorry I can't link these; they go to pending.

Change begins with calling a drunk an alcoholic so eventually he admits he has a problem, assumes responsibility for his actions and takes the difficult steps towards change! If you don't have the cojones to denounce the problem, and keep coddling the offender; how can you expect any kind of change???

I am extremely disappointed with the Obama administration.

Yes pulling out of the conferense is not showing positive change.

But USA isnt alone the NEOCON Harpers Canada and Isreal is also pulling out.

I understand Isreal but Canada and USA should been there and listen and maybe open say what they think about it isntead of pulling out.

You know that everyone follows America's lead, and that is really pathetic. Please, I urge everyone to read A.Wright's article, and please check to see if your university is holding IsraeliApartheidWeek next week and support this event. It's really at the grassroots level that change can start on this. Please Google it and check to see if it's being held in your city. The Israeli lobby is very powerful and the only hope left is growing this movement.

After you read these articles you will see that this is just show for the cameras and political posturing. The policy towards Israelhas not changed and frankly, I find it shameful!

It is my understanding - after research - that they DO pay income taxes, but they DON'T pay any property tax. True or false? Sorry if i was unclear. I stand corrected on the no tax thing. I'm assuming you then agree as to the aid of $3B a year coming from the US?

Wow!

The United States of America can criticize any country in the world, for human rights abuses, ---

except Israel.

And, when they finally do criticize The State of Israel ----- the sky falls.

Israel takes our money --- but not the strings attached ????

And, not our criticism.

Some folks need to grow up.

The US has gone way too far over the last 20 years in defending Israel, right or wrong: paying huge sums of monies each year to Israel: taking the blame for all the nasty things that Israel does to the Palestinians. Now, I think it is time we beat a path back to neutrality. Ignore the Jewish lobby, and do what is right. Mrs. Clinton has the right and has the obligation to criticise Israel if she thinks they are obstructing aid to Gaza. Israel has done great damage to our foreign policy over the years and yes I know that Muslims have been acting crazy for several years, but we, the US and Israel have made them crazy. we have paid too heavy a price for Israel, now we need to rid ourselves of this problem and don't feel so guilty about Israel. We did not cause the haulocast. The Germans did. We need to be free of this problem. And we cannot do it by lurching to one side even though we know most of those who claim to be Israeli are Americans, or Russians or Polish or from some other european country, so we feel some special resposibility. How about some equality for a change

Last time I checked, Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State for the entire United States which would mean that she speaks for the country and not some narrow constituency. The ONLY way that the United States can help bring about lasting peace in the Middle East is if we are viewed as neutrals who are willing to listen to both sides and we will never do that as long as we blindly follow what ever the Israeli government wants to do.

After decades of dishonest brokership, to say nothing of decades of propping up unpopular regimes in Egypt and Jordan (and Saudi Arabia?) I have to wonder how much credibility we have left; for the Arab woman/man on the street and, perhaps more importantly, for ourselves.

We shouldn't be the pawns of any group or any country, and we need to retain our objectivity about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. While the American Jewish lobby may consider this to be unacceptable, Hillary Clinton needs to pursue a course that keeps the U.S. free from slipping into either camp, otherwise our acting as an impartial broker will not be possible. There have been heinous actions on both sides, and this needs to be admitted before progress can be made.

People in Gaza are suffering from malnutrition and lack of healthcare and housing - the place no better than a concentration camp. There American supporters of Israel should be ashamed of themselves for supporting Israel's attempt to starve the people of Gaza. BTW Zuckerman can be reached at zuckerman@usnews.com

quote by Hanabana - page..3 or 4...

"Do you know any history? Palestine was a state before the land was cut up to create Israel, which then promptly and illegally since has been invading what is left of Palestine."

Palestine was a state? Uh....OK....

Actually this area was known as Palestine throughout much of it's history prior to Christ and then after Roman Rule, during the Byzantine era, and again under British rule. Check the history of this area.

In a non-Orwellian world, this would be simply recognizing objective historical facts. However, the news bubble which many Americans (and most specifically, venal politicians) inhabit will admit no facts which do not whitewash or totally exonerate the Israeli regime from any and all wrongdoing.
This would be tragic in any case. Since America's real interests, strategic and moral future are held hostage to the paradigm of Israel first, it is catastrophic.
Nothing less than a total reversal of American policy vis a vis Israel and the Middle East-from co-conspirator to honest, impartial broker of peace, can save the U.S. from strategic collapse, and Israel from total implosion.

Only two countries ever recognized that land as 'Palestine". It is mentioned in the Torah often,as is Jerusalem(633 times). Jerusalem is NOT mentioned in the Koran even ONCE!! That's a fact!!.....Skialethia...why must you lie to try and make your failed case???

You have to wonder what anybody is fighting over any more.

What's so wrong about peace, love and understanding?
