Laura Bush ABC Interview: 'Totally Forgot' To Watch Obama's Address To Congress

ABC:

Commercial airline travel, trips to the hardware store for nightlights and walks around the neighborhood - all part of everyday life these days for former President George W. Bush and his wife, former first lady Laura Bush.

In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Mrs. Bush said she and her husband were settling into a normal, post-presidency life at their new home in the Preston Hollow section of Dallas after spending a month at their ranch in Crawford while the house was finished.

I think their marriage was arranged. Both were 31, "somebody" wanted to groom GWB for politics and he needed a nice, safe wife. They met at a mutual friend's backyard BBQ and married about 2 1/2 months later and that year, GWB ran for state representative (beaten by Rep Kent Hance). Whoever was molding him for politics continued until he got to be president. It will be interesting to see if they forget about him now. You have to give Laura credit for sticking with whatever kind of deal they made, and they DID get two beautiful daughters in the bargain.

Story of that first campaign here....says a lot about GWB's attitude after that.

It would seem to me that any normal person who is married to a replaced leader who created great havoc and grief upon the world and brought about a collapse of the economy would not be so upbeat.
My heart would be too heavy and full of questions to really worry about the newspaper delivery and having to borrow that furniture from the "secret service guys next door" that we pay for. To forget the Obama speech indicates that the family had no interest in the problems of the country but are more interested in their new nest.

I'm sure it's just all the meds she's been on to cope with her life living with the most incapable and useless man who was given the job to run the country even though he did not win the Presidency and then ran it into the ground. I have often felt that was the only explanation for how she survived being in the Shrub family. She definitely has to be on some serious medications.
Looking back on her life must be incredibly painful.

I like Laura Bush, in spite of the President's policies. She is a classy lady with style and she always had a smile. She is a classy woman who seemed to be very dedicated in her role as First Lady.
