ABC:

Commercial airline travel, trips to the hardware store for nightlights and walks around the neighborhood - all part of everyday life these days for former President George W. Bush and his wife, former first lady Laura Bush.

In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Mrs. Bush said she and her husband were settling into a normal, post-presidency life at their new home in the Preston Hollow section of Dallas after spending a month at their ranch in Crawford while the house was finished.

This woman is in deep denial of any reality. She has said that her husband was not a failure. If this to be true then she believes that all the bad things Bush has done was by design to do so. Just smile and nod your head.

I love how they talk about going to the store for nightlights.

Is George scared being in a new house? Did the secret service have a chance to check the closet for the boogeyman?

This only proves that the Bushs don't care about the country AT ALL because if someone REALLY CARES about what is going on in their country then they watch the president (whomever it is) to see what he (or she) has to say, ESPECIALLY when it's in a crisis...what idiots these two are

Hey give Laura a break, lets face it, would you want to sit through a 90 minute speech that basically tells the American people what a mess her husband has made of our country.

I am sure her and W were quite happy watching American Idol.

Big surprise. Considering Bush spent eight years NEVER LISTENING TO ANYBODY BUT HIMSELF...why should this be news?

Only whack job conservatives care what the Bush family does post election. Please stop posting things that have no importance in the daily lives of intelligent people. This is not PEOPLE Magazine for goodness sake.

It is the gift that keeps giving. After all she was the First Lady, no matter how screwed up they were. America should lend some respect to her. LOL! I typed that with a straight face.

i'll bet if you polled all the librarians in the entire country, the ones who weren't working late, that nearly all of them remembered to watch just for the sake of the information they would receive. They don't care now, they didn't care then, they will never care in the future. They are ugly Americans through and through.

Laura just didn't want to admit to the fact that if she had tried to watch the speech, her husband would have thrown a tantrum on the floor and the Secret Service might have had to restrain him until after it passed. It's so difficult when you have an indolent child in the house.

So, George didn't call down from upstairs to remind her to come on up and watch with him? Or maybe he forgot too. They couldn't have been having sex and just lost track of time, ya think? How could they not have watched? Do they not consider themselves citizens anymore? Or do they think that since they have a place to live and a pension the economy is no longer their concern. I'm not sure who was the bigger mistake as a figurehead, Bush as a president or Laura as a human being.
There must be nothing inside of her but self interest to live with this abomination of a man for so many years.

The former 'First Family' had to borrow a kitchen table?

I have not been to Dallas since before 'W' was a struggling 'oil man', but I'm reasonably sure there was a 'Presidents Day' sale at a furniture store there. In fact the local Goodwill or Walmart would no doubt have delivered a table with 16 chairs.

Did that 'loaned' table get returned?
