Sharon Osbourne Sued Over 'Charm School' Fight

LOS ANGELES — A former contestant on Sharon Osbourne's "Rock of Love Charm School" has sued over an altercation with Osbourne during an episode of the VH1 show.

Megan Hauserman's suit filed Monday in Los Angeles claims battery, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress. She seeks a jury trial and punitive damages.

The December incident can be seen on VH1's Web site billed as "Sharon and Megan's big fight." In the video, the women exchange insults, Osbourne pours a drink on Hauserman and then the two are surrounded by a rush of people.

The suit claims Osbourne hit Hauserman, pulled her hair and scratched her.

Hauserman's attorney Warren J. Binder said in an interview: "It's pretty hard to deny what happened on the video."

Phone calls and e-mails from The Associated Press to Osbourne's publicists were not immediately returned.

I'm glad what happened to Meghan. Sharon did what everyone else was thinking. I wanted to slap her through the TV. I'm more surprised that people are actually siding with Meghan.

She committed battery, end of story, Chris Brown hit Rhianna and I didn't hear people saying things like "She had it coming". The fact is, Sharon attacked the woman, it really doesn't matter that the woman said something obnoxious to Sharon, Sharon committed battery.

And as for what somebody else said about why in the world Sharon Osbourne would be teaching any kind of Charm School....AMEN! None of her kids graduated, all have at one time or another been drug addicts and really do not present themselves well in public, why would she be able to teach anybody else anything?!

Sharon didn't hit Ozzy, she may have pulled some girl's weave. It's not comparable. Lastly, you don't know Sharon, or anything about her, except what is public, so you fail.

Battery is battery, and, if this article's description is accurate, there is no doubt that Sharon committed battery. I known reality TV has given the impression that a little bit of physical confrontation is okay, but legally this is not the case. I didn't know "intentional infliction of emotional distress" was a crime, but I would imagine a lot of reality shows are guilty of that crime.

Oh and don't tell me not to judge Sharon Osbourne. She chose to put her life and the lives of her children on television for all the world to mock. I know enough about her to make a few judgements. The OPs point was that she shouldn't be running a Charm School... you disagree?

I didn't expect Sharon to teach Charm School when she can't handle her own crew at home, they curse constantly at her or there father, so how can you teach someone elses child something when you can not teach your own.

I got to side with the s-kank on this one. Yeah it was all a s-tupid c-rap fest of a show, but Sharon Osbourne will do anything to stay relevant these days. Every bit of video footage of Meghan shot by the VH-1 crews (aired and unaired) over the 3 TV shows she's appeared should be allowed as evidence....
She had it coming - she asked for it; BUT in the legal realm, very likely will win a lawsuit.
That said, she should be awarded $200.00 to buy a piece of clothing that is not a bikini and a cab ride home. No more.

Wrong. Megan was obviously drunk. She was out of control and making random statements that made everyone on the set uncomfortable. Finally she referred to Sharon's husband Ozzy Osborne as brain dead. Ozzy Osborne sustained a very almost fatal accident several years ago, which resulted in a very bad speech impediment. I think Megans comments regarding Sharon's husband, were cheap, disrespectful, and completely uncalled for. She was lucky, if Sharon were another type of woman, things could have been much worse. Sharon Osborne is much too classy to even be in such company, I don't know what was on her mind.

Don't tell the parent poster he's wrong and then avoid the issue he's discussing. He was talking about the _legal case_, you know, the one that this entire article is about? Legally, I believe he is absolutely correct. Oh and that whole "she deserves it" thing is a bit frightening, especially in light of the Chris Brown incident.

Do you know what battery is? If so, can you tell me why this in not battery?
