Embarrassing that the President is interfering with sovereign nations, and trying to wedge more intrigues. Not a good sign.

Not a good diplomacy. It only underscore the President's inexperience in Foreign Affair. With due respect, Mr. President. There is a big difference between diplomacy and street organizer. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Which is the point his critics fail to recognize.

There is no reason that the U.S. and the Russians cannot have mutually beneficial relations. What we see here is just the beginning of the diplomatic discussions that can lead to better times for all. But of course, some in the media and some politicians will look for stresses and drama. Drama sells, you know.

Perfect response to set the table for negotiations. Neither deny nor confirm & keep it as general as possible. These are the types of signals the world needs to build confidence that our leaders may be willing to adopt an era of sanity. I was a bit discouraged last night to see all the blathering about this out in the open. Tipping Iran about any potential agreement in advance is probably not the best strategy, because it gives them ample time to try & beat it back. However I'm willing to accept the possibility that both Russia & the U.S. want this leaked in order to send a clear warning to Tehran that it's in their best interest to open up & negotiate NOW before their options are forcedly limited. In any case the tone is positive & this could prove a real game changer...

Typical open salvos for potential negotiations.

An initial feeler to see if there is any "there" there.
