Brad Pitt is a fine actor and he has always made time for things other than his career. It's good to see that our President can get a meeting to discuss issues affecting our nation.

If Rush wants to meet with the President so bad maybe he needs to follow Brad's example and actually do something that helps people in this country.

Talk less and act more, Rush.

Brad is awesome. Love Brad.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston spent 50K for her hair stylist to travel with her while she promotes that movie.

And Brad is supposedly the bad guy.

Aniston got snubbed by the love of her life by one of the hottest women in the movie industry...she's become a little unstable b/c of that and heck, i think she has a right to.

While Brad may be talented and seem like the nice guy, I would hardly call him a "model" for our society. Getting there, but no cigar.

Word is she was the haughty one in their relationship and known for putting him down....

Guess his passion for vacuity and sunning himself poolside wasn't strong enough for her..

BTW, anyone can go to www.makeitright.org to find out more about this project and/or make a donation. There is a merchandise section. Net proceeds go directly to the foundation.

Not true. Sweeping comments like that are counterproductive. It would not apply, for example, to Pres. Obama.

Brad Pitt has done some good in New Orleans, but I think the project is primarily to inflate his over sized ego. There have been many others who have contributed to the rebuilding of New Orleans. Why is Brad the only one who gets any credit. He has spent very little time in New Orleans. He mainly begged other American's to fund his project and then turns around and sells the homes. Why are the homes not given away, since the money to build the homes was donated? The CEO of Barnes and Nobles spent $20 million of his own money to build homes in New Orleans and gave the homes away for no charge. That is charity. What Brad does is a business venture and should be looked at accordingly.

Ginger, if you live here in New Orleans and do not recognize all Brad Pitt has done for our city, shame on you. His constantly mentioning our city and its recovery needs at every opportunity alone make him more effective than most of our elected officials.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated a lot of money to the recovery effort, in addition to this project. As have a lot of other celebrities who call New Orleans home, at least part time. To their credit, they do not feel the need to reinforce their ego by holding news conferences when they make their donations.
How much time he spends here, which, btw, is not very little, is his business. If you don't like him or his project why would you care if he's here or not?

If he begged others for money, good for him!

Give them away? Why? They are making them affordable. Then more people can have some.
Should he have done nothing, so he would not be armchair analyzed by someone who decides its for his ego?
I have read about other people being acknowledged in rebuilding New Orleans, not just Brad. Don't you see the photo of the man standing with him? There's one right there!

Are you kidding me? Wall Street has another catastrophic decline and Nancy Pelosi and Obama are taking a meeting with a movie star? This is insanity. They are giving the republicans plenty of ammunition.

Okay, I may be posting too much to this article.
But are you kidding me eliza!W! ?
So in your view it is a waste of time for members of congress to meet with a man who has a plan for affordable, sustainable, green, efficient housing for people who were devastated by the breach of the federal levees? Not only a plan, but has actually built many homes in the lower 9th. His model is one which can be transplanted to other areas as needed. How is this a waste of anyone's time?

Dont be silly- Dont you know that Pitt has built cost effective solar energy housing for the poor? Obama wants to use it as a model for larger programs, or contribute federal funds to enhance the existing. Come on, this is great.

He's actually doing something to help New Orleans - unlike the obstructionist republicans. You know that "public service" mantra that Obama has been repeating since the beginning of his campaign? Brad Pitt is a very good example of what good a "community organizer" can do. If anything he's shaming the do-nothing republicans.

Why, when a person that has genuine idea about how to help people, and he or she is a well known name, do some people automatically dismiss what ever they have to say?? Brad Pitt IS a model citizen. He IS using his name for the greater good. I would rather listen to what he has to say than most of the suits up on the hill! Besides he's better looking! =0)

If Pittjolie and Kabballamom donated .05 of their income and some 20 of their 26 houses combined instead of kidnapping third world babies to make them selves feel better we could solve 1/4 of the homeless problem.

Those involved with MIR know first-hand what it has meant to residents of the lower 9th ward, enabling them to take pro-active steps in a process that will help them to move home. Kudos to Brad Pitt and MIR! Kvetch all you want about their contributions, monetary and otherwise..what have you done?

It doesn't take much to help those in dire straits already and even more so now, with this economy! I mean, really..$5 for a CFL or $25 for paint, when you help out to adopt a home?
MAKE IT RIGHT, AMERICA!!
