Brad Pitt, Pelosi Meet In Washington (VIDEO)

Brad Pitt met with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) on Thursday to discuss the 45-year-old actor's charity efforts in New Orleans. The three held a press conference after the meeting.

Pitt founded "Make It Right" in 2007 to help build environmentally sustainable housing for low-income residents in New Orleans who lost their homes during Hurricane Katrina. He was nominated for a best-actor Oscar for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

Funny how Pitt tried to keep it as short as possible, and both Pelosi and Clyburn then deciding to drag this on to get a few more photos with a film star. Actors, especially 'humanitarians', are often attacked as attention seekers, but in that regard clearly no one beat politicians.

I am so proud of these three-individually -- what a gift - going forward -- for New Orleans but also all of us. What a huge boost Obama's election has brought us already in just a few short weeks. Brad Pitt is an outstanding citizen of the world who inspite of his efforts was unable to get the Bush White House to do anything, as well as the media. Both let his project and the Katrina victims down. "Nancy with the laughing face" - a little Sinatra there - I appreciate her more everytime she is showcased and have been extremely excited for Clyburn since the Obama success. Big fan of Brad and Angie.
