I would just like to add that I am what people consider a "liberal democrat" but I am pretty sick of our party being co-opted by these detached hollywood types who strive only for a utopian society, because they have the means to make that a reality in their own lives. We used to be the party of WORKING PEOPLE, blue collar joes, now we're the party of "great ideas to help things that dont vote"

I mean, I like whales, but whales dont vote. Have people like Brad Pitt do something meaningful instead of mandating houses be "green" if hes gonna help. people need homes of any kind, not just ones that help brad feel better about himself for building

YOu're not a Iiberal in any form of the word. LiberaI means progress.

Then you cut down every progressive thing he's trying to do in his program.

Must svck to be you.

You're no Liberal.

Second, "green" housing ultimately means lower utility bills.

What is the matter with you????

Good for him, what happened to those people was heartbreaking. For New Orleans to be left in such a state is shameful. This is the United States of America for God's sake. Go Brad Pitt and while he's on the subject of rebuilding maybe we could rebuild those twin towers, it is a pitiful tribute to those lost souls to have such a void. Wouldn't it be better to honor their memories by reconstructing. (think of the jobs and all the families it would help) With our new President to lead us and folks like Pitt who have the clout to get things moving there will be no stopping the American spirit.

" Hello Madame speaker, I have all this time on my hands because i only work one month a year, im here to talk about regular folks and how people like me can exploit them to make ourselves look better- did you get that check I sent?"

I want to read a story done by a real journalist who uncovers a famous hollywood "silent partner" in one of these charities- this whole "raise awareness" this thing is complete PR B.S.- do something when the cameras arent on dude who got famous for his naked arse in thelma and louise

"In 2006, Pitt created the Make It Right Foundation New Orleans and gathered a group of housing professionals together in the Hurricane Katrina-stricken city with the goal of financing and constructing 150 new houses in New Orleans' Ninth Ward. The houses are being designed with an emphasis on sustainability and affordability, with the hope that the project can and will be replicated throughout the city, with the assistance of Global Green USA, a national environmental organization. Thirteen architectural firms are involved in the project, many of which are donating their services. Pitt and philanthropist Steve Bing have each committed to matching $5 million in donations."

Sounds like a lot more than awareness.

There are other qualified individuals I would prefer talk to Nancy Pelosi other than Tyler Durden. We don't need any more Ronald Reagan's or Terminator's jumping into the political arena.

George Clooney meets with Obama to discuss Darfur, unfortunately Clooney has done nothing to help solve the problems in his own back yard here in Los Angeles. The reason being there are no camera's around or ego trip from making a difference in private. Now Brad Pitt is meeting with Nancy Pelosi, I cannot read this garbage any longer.

And just what is it "you have done?" These people Pitt and clooney, raise a heck of alot of money
for projects helping others. I hardly think Clooney and Pitt need any cameras around them.

Some of you guys are really something! Bash anyone that doesn't fit your particular agenda or ideas,
if you have any.

Do you really care that it gets done or who is getting it done? I mean, what's your point? If Pitt, Clooney or anyone else wants to use their money and fame to help make the world a better place, then let them! If their are issues in L.A. that need some attention, then get out there and rally your friends, family and co-workers and start your own organization!! Start in your own back yard, take your own advice. I mean really, your being ridiculous.

May I say that celebrities are people too. They, too, have the right, just like you, to be interested in politics, have an opinion, etc... And if you are really dedicated and committed to a cause, maybe even you can get to meet President Obama to talk about it.

Also, no one forces you to "read this garbage". So, stop hurting yourself, next time, refrain from clicking on the article, it can only do you good. It's to bad that we sometimes keep harming ourselves when could just say, thanks but no thanks.

??? Who cares? Ronald Reagan was from Hollywood. It's not like Brad Pitt is trying to convince us of buying nuclear weapons. He's looking for help to finish rebuilding New Orleans. You're a loser.
