Crain's Chicago Business:

Add U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson, D-Chicago, to the list of those pondering a run for the Senate seat now held by Roland Burris.

"I am going to consider running," Mr. Jackson said in a phone interview. "Some people have asked me to consider it, and I will...I'm not going to take anything off the table."

Jackson is a snitch and it will be remembered for the rest of his career. Who will ever really trust this guy again? Plus he's a hypocrite for accusing anyone of pay to play.

I think Jackson would make an excellent Senator but frankly, I think he would have a difficult time winning a statewide election. Once you get away from Chicago, Illinois becomes a fairly red neck state. Anyone would be better than another Daley though!

Jesse Jackson Jr. is an excellent congressman. He has the best voting attendance record of anyone in the House. (He shows up to vote.) I think people judge him based on his father, which is a lazy assumption. He is his own man.

one sure way for the Dems to lose that seat is to have a Jesse Jackson on the ballot...period...don't do it

agreed. If either one of them was up against Mark Kirk, they would both loose. Mark's a pretty moderate republican, and frankly JJ Jr. would probably not be able to beat him.

Please tell me what Jesse Jackson, Jr. has done wrong? He had no control over being named after father at birth, if that's what you're judging him on. Perhaps, I've missed something, so please list just one crooked thing he's done since he's been a politician. Are you just being prejudice? In case you don't comprehend the definition of prejudice, it means to prejudge, not necessarily by color, but for any stupid reason whatsoever. Why not paste a website that gives us all the negative accolades concerning Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr?
