The Hill:

President Obama's impending reversal of the restrictions on embryonic stem cell research is meant to distract from the economy, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) suggested Sunday.

"There's a reason it's coming up this week," Cantor said during an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union." "Why are we going and distracting ourselves from the economy? This is job No. 1, let's focus on what needs to be done."

Eric Cantor is a phony. Does he really believe that President Obama cannot address anything other than the economy. It did not take but a few minutes to sign the stem cell research bill. Cantor is saying that President Obama is not keeping all his promises. First of all no one can keep every promise and secondly, some of his promises were made before the economy took such a bad turn. Obviously, it stands to reason that some things will now have to be re-evaluated since the economy is dominating everything we do. Eric Cantor should know this. If he doesn't, then should he even be in Government. Some are saying that President Obama should have done more to keep the stockmarket from falling so far since his inauguration. That is just plan unfair. George Bush should have done more and much sooner, if he had we would not be in this fix right now or it would at least not be as bad.

Mr. Cantor, I see you have your back bone back. A couple of weeks ago when the President had the congressional press conference you were so ingratiating I had to relive the contents of my stomach. So, you can't seem to understand that our leaders, of which you are one for some constituency (God knows why), need to be able to do more than one thing at a time. I'm aware you would like to have the time to think and consider the best ways to go negative on every policy coming out of the White House - I believe you and your contingent of "NO" are getting whip flash. Don't worry -- you only have another year and 9 months to go and you will be free of your current employment. Oh, and by the way - were you a frozen embryo that was taken out of the freezer? Missed opportunity.

Well Mr. Cantor, your Presidential candidate said that the basics of the economy were sound so we can concentrate on other things.

Cnator is an accident waiting to happen....I'm waiting for the expose. The Republicans are wrong to politicize this issue, as the scientists state this is where they need to be.

Cuntor is an accident, as I'm sure his mother could attest. This man is a living, breathing example of why abortion should be legal.

I meant to say, should have been legal in the months after he was conceived, and should remain legal.

Eric Cantor is the new pit bull for the House Republicans. He is only following his master's orders to throw as much mud as possible towards Obama and hopes something sticks someday.

You notice, Eric Cantor speaks in sound bite language - Republicans are trying their best to get any 30-second sound bite to take hold and make people not think about how the Republicans supported Bush and Gang to bring the country to where we are today.

When I have children, I'll be saying "yes" to them all the time b/c the GOP now is making me hate the word "no." Let me go take a 4th round of blood pressure medicine THIS MORNING.

Well Can'tor should know a "distraction" when he sees it I guess. That's all he's done since Obama took office - distract. Oh, and obstruct. I swear these repubs think it's still the 1980's.

I'm glad to see the changes in the views on science - especially stem cell research. We've be stuck on hold for the last 8 years.

Who is Cantor to say that the President isn't taking care of the economic problem? He's already got the stimulus package in play and President Obama is monitoring the crisis daily. There are a lot of other issues to deal with and the President is taking care of them. When will Cantor understand that it is President Obama who was voted in to lead this country. Cantor obviously can't think outside the box. He can't be effective only defective.

If the President were only concentrating on the economy and ignoring everything else, my guess is that Eric Cantor would be at the front of the line reminding people that Obama had abandoned all of the promises he made during his campaign.

Cantor's a clown-
He should at least have something "valuable" to say.
Obama is keeping his word and campaign promise,
Cantor needs to learn, this is what the country voted for and an example
of what democracy looks like-
