Julia Roberts On Home Life And "Duplicity"

Julia Roberts

Telegraph:

"Not many paparazzi follow me now," she laughed, ensconced in a suite at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. "It's just the slow ones who haven't yet figured out I'm not the one to follow." She obviously had not seen the swarm of photographers massing at the hotel entrance waiting for her exit, a testament to her enduring popularity and the interest surrounding the imminent release of Duplicity, a jaunty spy thriller in which she has her first starring role in nearly five years and which reunites her with her Closer co-star Clive Owen.

Although she is devoting more time nowadays to being a housewife and mother to three young children the Oscar-winning actress insists that she has never really been away from acting.

"Of course my life has changed and I work less, but I was never really one to work too much," she said. "I never really did years of movie-after-movie-after-movie but when you've got three toddlers in the house you're performing all day long, anyway, with puppet shows and stories---I act around the clock."

I can't picture Roberts and Owen as former secret agents.

Good to see she is happy and settled....but why oh why is she getting up and making breakfast, cleaning the kitchen and cooking dinner? Seriously. If she's not making movies which apparently she loved doing, to be with her kids then why the housework? yuck.

Wow - like maybe because she likes some soulful, introspective work such as being Mama & getting awayt from all of the blithering Hollywood stuff? Maybe because being a Mom and a homemaker is something that she wants to clarify as IMPORTANT, significant & fulfilling?

No bio needed. My cuteness speaks for itself.

I think that she likes to hear herself talk. I doubt that she is spending her days scrubbing the toilets and scouring the tubs.

I would be more likely to see this movie if it had a different leading lady.

I'm in the love her/hate her contingent. Love her in some flicks like The Mexican and Steel Magnolias, hate the way she treats boyfriends/husbands and her older (and more-talented) brother Eric Roberts. Like Mickey Rourke said when he won the Independent Spirit award, whatever wrongs Eric may have committed years ago in H-wood need to be forgiven and forgotten. This new flick with Julia & sexy Clive Owen looks like fun though...

Eric and Julia have reconciled.

Like anyone in the public eye you either hate Julia or love her. Those who don't care one way or another don't read this stuff. I like her acting and look forward to her movies. It's such a dark world today that I've been spending a lot of free time getting away from it all with actors & actresses. I hope that movies survive the economy; I read that movie attendance quadrupled in the Depression.

Ok, I used to look like Julia before I had my nose fixed and my chin bone cut off.
So,...I think people evolve and have a right to change whether it is spiritually or metaphysically.
Why should we be taken less seriously if we focus on one and the other and our friends don't see us for years and say we are the same and not grown, and I guess I owe Julia an apology, because she can have my face. i think she needs acting lesson though.

She's ba-a-a-a-a-c-c-c-c-k-k-k-k-k!!!

More of this so called pretty woman is more than I can stand.

Hmm, marriage wasn't such an "unbreakable bond" during her husband's first marriage. I don't know why she would even speak on that subject considering her homewrecking ways.

I watched the "Duplicity" trailer the Apple site a while back and really liked what I saw. It will be cool to see Julia in a starring role again.

Can't wait to see "Duplicity." The two were great in "Closer." Love Julia. She seems like a really together person.
