Par for the course. Criticizing without
the facts.

Is it just my bias against the man, or does he become particularly vindictive when the target programme has anything to do with science or the environment or animals?

I guess he does not know how to handle a beaver.....look at what he did with Palin.

McCain was never funny to begin with, just irrelevant.

"The economy is fundamentally sound" ... now the beavers... someone around McCain needs to bring him up to date before he jams his foot down his throat again... he is starting to appear like a sore loser.

Just another example of McCain's totally underestimating our intelligence, and that of the beavers.....oh, and those in charge of beaver management.

Why doesn't someone in the McCain camp or at least some of what passes for journalist who cover for McCain sit him down and give him a clue?

Where is Cindy McCain? Surely she can understand how dismal he looks in his quest to undermine the president? Does she not realize that John McCain reflects poorly on her also?

This is how he plans to spend the rest of his political career?

Instead of being a statesman and working with the new administration to do something good for the country, McCain is spending his time making jokes and going on every possible tee-vee show dissing the President.

What a sad end for a grumpy sad old man.

What do you mean with "know-nothing". I thought his campaign was all about "know-it-all"? Remember? He knows how to find Bin Ladin, he knows how to route out Al Qaida, he knows how to fix the econmy? LOL

Here's one back at ya', McCain....how do you manage a pit bull with lipstick? Oh, that's right, you don't, you just let her go rogue all over your campaign. Har...har...har...har...har

Announcing Palin as his VP was still his best joke. But keep trying Johnny.

There is something pretty damn funny about a 70 + year old man using Beavis and Butthead humor. Kind of like the Grumpy Old Men movies.

The problem is that this is not a time to be funny John. We all don't have so many houses we lose track of the number.

With every passing beaver joke the American people are seeing more clearly than ever that the Republican party has nothing of any substance to the average citizen. I am sure your locker room humor is a hoot for the country club boys, but the rest of America would be more impressed if you found a way to put your half century of public service to better use.

John, you old joker, your just a laugh-a-minute. Lindsay, in the picture appears to sniff something stinky.

This story is another example of John McCain's tendency to act on his assumptions (often based on nothing more than his "gut" feelings) without checking the facts first. We can now pat ourselves on the back for saving the country from such reckless leadership.

Let's not miss the other message this story offers, though. We should be careful not to oversimplify the earmark issue. The mere fact that a congressional representative proposes government spending for a project which benefits his district or state does not automatically render that project unworthy of consideration. Why not focus reform efforts on responsible consideration of the value of these projects, rather than simply screening them out based on who proposed them and whether or not they involve funny-sounding animals?

For those who did not go to the Charlotte Observer to read the article, this "earmark" is about flood control. It would arguably save lives, not to mention far more money than it would cost. Beaver dams cause floods. Hilarious, John.

He should know better. He was around when Sen. Patricia Schroeder embarrassed herself in exactly the same way over "cattle guards."

Isn't there some person who loves Old McCain enough to sit the guy down and give him a big dose of "tough love talk"? The old POW needs to be put out to Pasture. Every time he opens his mouth he sounds more and more pathetic.
