I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Coulter Ugh

Meghan McCain, self-styled Republican party critic and Daily Beast blogger, has a serious beef with Ann Coulter.

I straight up don't understand this woman or her popularity. I find her offensive, radical, insulting, and confusing all at the same time. But no matter how much you or I disagree with her, the cult that follows Coulter cannot be denied.

McCain takes issue with the fact that Coulter is reliably one of the most public faces of the struggling-to-find-its-new-image party, because she is easily pushing away the few members the party has left.

... But here is what I don't get about Coulter: Is she for real or not? Are some of her statements just gimmicks to gain publicity for her books or does she actually believe the things she says? Does she really believe all Jewish people should be "perfected" and become Christians? And what was she thinking when she said Hillary Clinton was more conservative than my father during the last election? If you truly have the GOP's best interests at heart, how can you possibly justify telling an audience of millions that a Democrat would be a better leader than the Republican presidential candidate?

McCain goes on to suggest that if she herself, the daughter of a former GOP presidential candidate, is regularly turned off by Coulter's extremist antics, what must the general public think?

McCain is equally baffled by the GOP's official leadership. In an ABC radio interview, she admits she doesn't understand Michael Steele's new "hip hop" strategy.

If you're saying I want people from the hip-hop community -- I don't even know what that means exactly -- I guess people that are in the music industry could become more closer and you know try and become Republicans (sic). I just don't think that is going to work. I think they need to rely on a message that is going to really stick with people of my generation.

And in a previous Daily Beast post, the campaign blogger expressed frustration with the lack of Internet savvy in the Republican party.

Actually, Lucky Lief, Ann Coulter confused me from the moment she claimed to be a Constitutional Lawyer - I'm still trying to figure out whose Constitution that would be? Certainly not ours.

But then again, never have I seen the GOP give up so much ground to the extreme right whose mission seems the defense of those even the Party finds indefensible.

Sorry, but I don't trust any of them at this point. The repubs have gone so far over the line there may be no coming back. As for Meghan McCain, too little too late. She was completely invisible until now. I don't buy it. There are a few voices distancing themselves from Coulter and Limbaugh, but it seems to me to be smoke and mirrors.

And hasn't anyone noticed the striking similarity between Ms. McCain and Coulter?

Coulter's fan base consists of NASCAR and WRESTLEMANIA knuckleheads.
They ain't buying her books...in fact they NEVER buy books; “Cuz buyin’ books is ‘fer’ gays ‘n stuff.”
So what is a book writer to do?
She makes totally outrageous remarks in public to disgust real Americans in hopes that those same Americans will be shocked enough to buy her next book.
It is the literary equivalent of people slowing down to get a macabre peek at car accidents.
The best thing we real Americans can do is to NOT buy her books anymore.
They are obviously targeting Liberal Democrats through crazy and repugnant claims.
Liberal Democrats are simply trying to know their enemy.
But after this last remark, even un-American Republicans are abandoning this hag.
Although this may be just an attempt by the filthy Coulter to make her un-American party look more sympathetic.
Bottom line, ignore this horror of a 'woman' and sooner or later she'll be just a distasteful memory.

You can get Coulter's book free for the postage on NewsMax. I think NewsMax buys them up and then takes a hit on them to get the venom out there to fire up the radicals.

Coulter is a disgrace as both an author and a human being. Every time I see her I note that her strategy is simliar too Rush Limbaugh in that both of them think that louder is better. In interviews, Coulter just talks over her interviewer since, in her opinion, what she has to say is more important than what anyone else has to say. Moreover, anyone fact-checking any of her books is aware that she simply makes stuff up and provides no documentation for most of the statements she makes. She should really be listed under Fiction.

As a Democrat, I think it's just wonderful that Limbaugh and Coulter are the faces of the Republican party; this ensures a long reign for the Democratic Party.

Ann is only confusing to those with pinched frontal lobes, you know, the usual suspects: liberals, leftists, radicals, communists, socialists etc., the hate-America crowd inspired by the new occupant of the White House.

Ann Coulter is a symptom of a larger Republican malady. Of wishful thinking, of absence of empathy and analysis...saying things without doing the research, of wiring the id to the vocal cords, of raging opportunism, of reckless self-centeredness. It's a mindset that at first left me appalled, then thinking this is the mindset segment that Hitler recruited his SS from, and wondering how these people conduct their personal lives. My conclusion is to be very grateful I have not encountered any Coulter fans personally. Make the sign of a cross if you spot one in your path.

I once worked at a company that was going through several rounds of layoffs. It got to the point where employees would make the sign of a cross whenever an HR person came near. (The HR people would fetch the people being laid off and isolate them in a central deprocessing area.)

These fascist shock radio hacks need to be called on the carpet for their un-American behavior. They abhor the basis of democracy and equal justice for all. Its time that Americans take responsibility for the 'enertainers' that they enrich. The problem is that sociopathic people tend to be entertaining. But, that is very dangerous entertainment. Millions of innocent people get further from the 'American dream' because of the popularity of the radio fascist.

Meghan McCain is about the only republican willing to talk straight and make sense.
Even though she has only a few blog entries and no real job in the party, she has emerged as a voice of the parities future.

While the GOP tries to get its members to Twitter and tries to figure out how to reach out to people under fifty, they would do well to listen to Meghan McCain. Clearly she wants to be a loyal Republican, but the parties extremist right wing views are making it awfully difficult for her. It is for many conservatives who are not nut jobs.

Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh should be voices the Mainstream GOP should be running from, not kowtowing to. Michael Steele made a huge mistake apologizing to Rush Limbaugh. By default he declared Rush the parties supreme authority. It will cost the GOP greatly.

Look for Meghan McCain in 16 or 20 years. She could have a very serious political career.

Where to start? The fiction about Iraq? Like teh "intelligence" wasn't cooked. ANyone witha brain could have found teh truth. All WMDs were gone, only Cheney-types thought otherwise, because they gave all the knowledge and supplies to Saddam in the 1980s and thought they knew the itinerary. Aluminum tubes were being dumped on the black market by Iraq because they no longer had a use for them, so these were used as evidence for the exact opposite and incorrect thesis.

Iraq was a lie from day 1, and that the "surge" returned us to a point we were ata year into the war, that is hardly anything to brag on.

And if you fruitwings would actuaally pay attention to details, you would see taht the Democrt plan may be innefficient, but it isn't socialist, and it is necessary.

Most of the bad mortgages are not about poor people, they are about McMansions marching up every space off every highway, all those yokels who knock down historic landmarks to build tacky huge garbage much too big for their family or income, who took out multiple mortgages to pay for trickets and baubles and objects and trips tehyc an't afford.

It is about using credit cards as if they were a salary increase.

Most of the culprits will turn out to have thought they were Republicans.

As you fade into well-deserved anachronism and irrelevancy, do say hello to the Beta tapes and 8 tracks you see along the way, ok?

"I don"t believe I owe it to you or anyone else to reduce the size of your mortgage because I feel you should have bought responsibly and well within your budget." - izabanchi

But you believe we owe it to the banks to reward their execs for making all of the bad loans and make them happy so they'll start lending again? That it will "trickle down" and stimulate the economy like all those tax cuts for the corporations and their execs have for the last eight years?

If anybody is going to be rewarded for irresponsible behavior with a tax payer funded bail out it should be the tax payers rather than the banks and corporations who have been operating basically tax free for the last eight years while they were destroying the economy.

My God, it seems I'll never realize the full extent of the ignorance and hypocrisy of repugs. After all these years they still manage to surprise me.

I don't think we should have bailed out the banks either. They should have been allowed to fail and smaller more solvent banks would have replaced them. When people are irresponsible and we bail them out it just leads to more of the same behavior. I personally think we give entirely to much credit to the MSM to do our thinking for us and the panic they helped to spread has brought down the economies of every significant nation. As an NCO in the Army I'm certainly not anywhere near the top of the food chain so I bought responsibly and I expect the same from others. If their property is forfiet because they did something foolish then so be it, someone else will benefit from their foolishness. If it were just the rich speculators who overextended themselves then none of you would be complaining, but it wasn't . It was a general lack of self control and greed on the part of banks and future homeowners that led to the current situation and whether you admit it or not several key Democrats were involved in the pyramid scheme. I would think you would question why our new president has had several of his appointees caught with their hand in the cookie jar but it's obvious that you don't care about that because cheating on your taxes is a good thing, right, By the way it's spelled Republican.

Oh, so you're of the "do nothing and let it all fail" REPUG philosophy. I mean it's not as if the repugs that matter, the corporate barons and Wall Street wheeler-dealers, are going to starve. Let them eat cake and the ones that they took the jobs from who can't even afford bread starve.

My thought...perhaps we need to get rid of the CEO's of all these banks & companies. They don't do all the grunt work, they get massive bonuses at the end of the year, etc. Imagine how many jobs could be saved with a 10 million bunus!! Banish them to the golf courses and exclusive clubs they spend all their money on and let the working Joe keep his job. The broker mentality is what did us in; I say can all of them!!
