Eddie "Piolín" Sotelo isn't a national media figure, but last month he found himself on the line with President Obama.

This is great news, it is especially important in these challenging times that everyone feels our national leaders (in this case the president) are reaching out to them.
Let’s take this a step further. I noticed CNN has panel discussions that include reporters from BET. I think it would be interesting (and important to the national dialog) to also include reporters/pundits from Telemundo and other minority and alternative news outlets to these panels on a regular.
I think this inclusive/expanded panel discussion will remind us that we are ALL in this together and will allow for ideas that maybe we haven’t heard before. As a news junkie I for one am tired of hearing the same talking points from the same reporters/pundits.
This is a terrific strategy. Its extremely important to the future of the US, to have a clear understanding of what its population now looks like, and unlike the most - seen media types, it isn't rich, white, male and pompous. Its made up of lots of smaller communities who are working hard to build a strong future for those communities. High time they got the attention that they have earned. Certainly, I'm sure that they will be communication about more important issues than asking the POTUS 3 times whether he is a socialist, as the NYT interview did. (!)
