Obamas Return From Second Trip To Camp David (SLIDESHOW, VIDEO)

The Obamas returned to Camp David this weekend for their second trip to the presidential retreat.

The getaway was short; the family left on Saturday morning and was back at the White House by the early afternoon on Sunday, presumably to get ready for Ted Kennedy's birthday celebration at the Kennedy Center, which we documented in a slideshow here.

The family first went to Camp David on Marine One a month ago.

If you don't want him to take a helicopter then Mr. bright ideas, how would you like for our President to travel? President Obama is the Leader of our country, and he, like past Presidents, have use of Helicopters such as that one, Air Force One and all other mode of secure transportation available to him. OMFG! He has a newspaper (several it seems) in his hand. He actually reads for himself and this proves that he proactively gets information from outside the bubble.

Never saw Bush with a newspaper. But of course, he was always fed his information and therefore could always scapegoat the intelligence community for his f'ups.

As to Bush he spend 487 days in Camp David and 77 trips to Texas. (480 days total)
A third of his 'reign' was spent on vacation.

At Obama's rate he will spend 112 days over the course of 8 years. Heck he's not even going to make a healthy four week vacation annually at this rate. Not good, in his pressure cooker I want him at his best and that means down time. Bet you money he is working on these trips, certainly know he gets his security briefings daily. But it probably is relaxing to know his girls are having fun and Michelle is doing the mother job out of the public eye.

Since you seem to be keeping count...why don't you enlighten us how many times Bush used his AND Air force 1 for non governmental purposes (such as fundraising)?

As you all have been pointing out, that kind of use of public property was to be expected for Bush and his rich friends. But Obama is a man of the people, not the rich. I guess the economy is not a catastrophe from 10,000 feet on your way to Maryland.

Certainly a family vacation is appropriate, but 2 weekend trips to the family cabin (I don't even have one of those, let alone a helicopter) in less than 8 week in office?!

Oh I don't know , we have driven to our cabin 3 times in the last 9 weeks for relaxation. Would you suggest he drive the family.? Or are you saying he should be tied to his desk 24 X 7? Or maybe your saying his duties toward family should be put aside for the duration.

I want my President to relax, do his exercise, have a cocktail on an evening, dine with his family, all these things so he's at the top of his form in dealing with all that he has on his plate.
