Ricky Gervais's Hilarious "Sesame Street" Appearance (VIDEO)

Thank god for "Sesame Street," without out it I would never have learned to read, count, or talk to over-sized plush animals. The only way to improve upon it is to add caustic British comedians as often as possible.

Gervais was on the set for an interview with Elmo that will air this November when "Sesame Street" premiers its 40th Anniversary episode. Luckily, the AP got a sneak peek.

In the following segment, Gervais and Elmo talk pajamas, charity, where the producer lost control of the interview, and what not to talk about on "Sesame Street." According to Gervais those topics include, "Drugs, child abuse, and the Holocaust."

Freakin' hilarious. Can't help but crack up every time I see it. When Elmo buries his head in his hands in a fit of giggles, it sets me off.

I'm so glad American has taken Ricky Grevais to it's heart, because overhere in Britain, well, quite franky, we've had enough of him. Sure the Office was funny, but after watching the 175th repeat, well we're really finding it hard to laugh over here. Ricky is a one trick pony and probably weighs about the same. His high pitched giggle, well, Let me tell you, people are jumping from tall buildings when they hear that laugh. Here in Britain, we have a habit of coming up with ground-breaking comedy, Monthy Python, The Royal Family, the list just goes on and on.
Right now, we are laughing at a man called, Alister Darling, I swear to God it's his real name. Alister is in charge of the banks over here and well, the things he does, has us rolling in the isles.
JUst last week, Alister said he saw the first green shoots of recovery, I tell you, that nearly brought the house down. So you hang on to Ricky, we got plenty of funny guys and gals in the Government. Toodle-Pip

I watched it with my 8-year old, and when Elmo tells Ricky, "Get off of Elmo. You're not supposed to touch Elmo!" my daughter stood up and yelled, "You tell him! You're not supposed to touch Elmo!" I literally rolled in the floor :-)

I did have to watch it several times before I made out everything that Elmo says, but it was worth it. I just love the way that Ricky touches Elmo - poking him in the chest, putting an arm around his shoulders etc - as though he's talking to a real person. Very cute.

I love how Elmo waits a beat before shouting "Where did you this interview?" Elmo has his timing down. If he gets pink slipped he can always fall back on his stand up. The little guy is knows funny.
