Stephen E. Quick, Samantha Light Accused Of Taping Themselves Having Sex With Children

VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — A couple who ran a baby-sitting service out of their home videotaped themselves performing sex acts with children, some as young as 2 months old, police said Friday.

Stephen E. Quick, 31, and Samantha Light, 25, both of Veedersburg in western Indiana, were being held on $100,000 bond in Fountain County Jail. Both faced preliminary charges of child molestation and child exploitation. Jail staff did not know whether either one had an attorney.

Police who searched the couple's home found a videotape depicting sex acts involving Quick and Light and at least four different children between the ages of 2 months and 6 years old, said Fountain County Sheriff's Deputy Bob Kemp.

"In 15 years of doing this job, it's the worst thing I've ever seen or imagined," he told WRTV. "Just horrible, just horrible It's a new low."

Police searched the couple's home after the parents of a 3-year-old girl reported that she told them Quick and Light had touched her inappropriately and photographed her at their home on Feb. 28.

Deputies seized several computers, cameras, a video camera, pornographic materials, drugs and drug paraphernalia. Several sex toys that appeared in the video were seized during a second search, police said.

Quick and Light were arrested March 5. Neither has a criminal history.

Authorities have removed the couple's daughter from their home.

Oh come on guys, I don't care what catagory we want to throw these people in..i.e..Conservative, republican, weird, straight, black, white... The point is two very sick people got caught doing the worst thing you can do! Sexual abuse on babies and children one ups any label we can throw on them beside Inhumane animals. Stephen looks like an absolute thug, and he's six years older than his girlfriend. I hope there's a court psychologist who can look into whether Samantha herself was abused or under duress before she's thrown into prison. She could be a victim, you know.

IT's not about innocent and pure--it's the men commit 95% of sexual crimes. And in the infrequent cases where women are perpetrators, it is often as accomplice to a man--as in this case.

Not what I said, Sizzla. I'm simply hoping that a competent investigation takes place before we throw away the key. Now, admittedly, I'm thinking the scowling, older, scary-looking man with the tattoos was more likely to have wielded the power in their relationship vs. other way 'round. If the WOMAN had looked like a scary, tough person, however, I might have suspected the reverse: I'm not being influenced by gender here as much as by attitude/ differences of the couple in the police photos.

No plea copping when children are so grossly abused. The woman is a grownup and we all make choices. I hope these two are locked up for life, no parole possibilities. And I pray that these little ones get good counseling.

And I wish with all my heart that any home baby sitting service is regulated and inspected frequently.Parents are, in tough times, often forced to live in denial, pretending that they are "sure" their baby sitters, who talk a good game to them, are "Safe."
I pray mostly that no child goes to a stranger baby sitter until they are old to talk and snitch on any abuse. It horrifies this grandmother to hear of babies --infants -- left in the care of a sitter found through a newspaper ad. Horrific chances taken daily.

You bring up very good points, BeltwayBette, and I echo everything you say. The licensed daycare my grandson attends is just a few yards from where my daughter works. She can go in between clients to nurse him, check on him, watch him through the huge indoor window in his room (after she punches in the security code to get in the building.) And lest people think she is some yuppie with access to the best, she was abandoned by her husband two months before the baby was born, receives virtually no support from him and gets state funding to help with childcare.

And it horrifies this grandmother also to know that some parents will trust their children with people they find from newspaper or sidewalk signs, without checking references, without dropping in unannounced during the day. Parents need to know sexual predators seek out jobs in that field, to make access to vulnerable children easier.

Absolutely. The "sickness" that causes such violation stems from sexual repression, and there is a vast library of literature on the subject that goes back even farther than Freud on the matter.

Educate yourself.

The Judeo/Christian/Islamic proscriptions against free sexual expression are directly responsible for this sort of behavior. It's all part of the psychological enslavement such religions have engaged in for thousands of years.

Eventhough I am heterosexual woman, I agree. Poor children, throw the keys away, these are two sick people. I did without a lot of material things, but I stayed home and never, never wanted anyone to babysit my children, because I always feared something like can happen and you might never know.
