WASHINGTON — Don't blame the Bush administration for all the country's economic problems.

That's the message from former Vice President Dick Cheney.

President Barack Obama constantly talks about the enormous economic troubles that he inherited when he took office in January. Cheney agrees that Obama did indeed came into power amid very difficult economic circumstances.

But Cheney says he doesn't think the Bush administration can be blamed for creating the economic woes. Cheney says it's a global financial problem. He says the idea that fault can assigned to the previous administration is "interesting rhetoric" but he doesn't think people care about that.

Cheney spoke on CNN's "State of the Union."

we give the president all of the blame or credit to personify america, the economy is just too large, the congress hand-cuffs him too much, its too global, and on and on. The presidents power is his troops, his bully pulpit, thats about it...

I do blame the Bush WH. As for Cheney's excuse that this is a world problem, someone, maybe me should clue him in that the world blames the US for creating this mess. Hello??? He is living on the river called denial!!! More attemps to re-write history. Ain't working.

That the world blames us has more to do with a deflection on the part of their leaders than any basis in truth...

He has no problems - we pay him a hefty pension. And don't forget he has a stake in Halliburton and he made sure Halliburton made billions in the Iraq War.

Read the title and part of the article and made the conscious decision not to listen to the video. Same old B S. Same old lies. Same old "we don't have to account for anything we did during our administration because we were gods".

It's funny how Republicans are always bleating about "personal responsibility," when Republican leaders never, ever take personal responsibility for anything, ever.

Fortunately, they're the minority and thus irrelevant.

Twice the audacity, none of the hope of an inspirational or transformational leader.

Who cares if he admits his role in ruining the economy? He's going to prison for 15,000 years for his assorted war crimes, if his "heart" lasts long through the trials.

I second that .... How is he any different from the criminal thugs (so called leaders) in Africa, and then we want the World Court to prosecute war criminals.

The fact that he denies any responsibility for the economic crisis displays the republican party's lack of accountability towards governing our United States the last eight years. It's as if he is denying they were even in office. This is a classic example of typical sociopathic thinking and behavior. Can anyone imagine if he had been allowed to serve another term? It would be enough to give anyone severe nightmares.

Cheney: "Hey, don't blame me for the economy. I had nothing to do with it. I was spending all of my time setting up a shadow government, working on torture memos, and figuring out which of my buddies would get those neat little no-bid contracts in Iraq. Oh, yeah, in my spare time, I made little origami swans with the Constitution."

what I don't understand is why the MSM is still giving air time to this heartless, insensible guy after we've suffered eight years of seeing and listening to him and decided we didn't want to any more.

They are giving him air time because they are still treating the Republican party as though it won the election. The Republican party refuses to acknowledge the will of the people and so do most of the media. The GOP claims to be a Taliban and they actually declared war on the good citizens of this country who did not vote for them. Apparently the media are going to do the dirty work for the Republicans and we the people can just go fly a kite!!!

Probably he should go back to Wyoming just like his boss who went back to Texas. Why was this guy even given any air time? Nothing that came out of his mouth was truthful. Why obsess with this old man who ruined this country? Oh! by the way he is still angry at his former boss for not pardoning SCOOTER, saying that scooter was innocent and unfairly prosecuted. He should go take a hike on some Wyoming trail, which will do good for his heart.

Right Dicky.

I care that Obama keeps Gitmo open as a permanent residence for war criminals and white collar thieves.
