GOP Promises Alternative Budget To Obama

WASHINGTON — The No. 2 House Republican says the president's budget plan doesn't address the needs of small businesses and that the GOP will put forward an alternative.

Rep. Eric Cantor is warning that President Barack Obama's spending proposal would raise taxes on every American by $800 _ the result of new taxes on polluting energy companies and manufacturers.

Cantor says the administration's long-term view ignores the country's immediate needs.

The Virginia Republican appeared Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

URGENT! Bush left us with the most disgusting economy and conditions in USA history.

Our only hope is that you get behind this President and give him everything he wants in order for us to have a chance to get out of it. If we don't support him FULLY 100% we will fail and become second rate. The Republicans must now get behind this President. He will sink or swim with this program. Many will be against full health care coverage because it will effect doctors, insurance companies and pharmacuetical companies. We need a drastic change for these drastic times. I am so TOTALLY THROUGH with David Gregory, who presented Canter with a quetions from Twitter:

"If you wre president what would you do differently, other than cutting taxes, to help the economy."

Instead of Canter introducing a hint of something he and his fellow republicans have tossed around to help the economy, the man droned on-and-on in talking-point fashion without one word about what he would do. Not only did Gregory not steer him back to the question that was asked, Gregory went on to another subject. I don't know if they've ever had anyone as ineffective on Meet the Press than they have now. Geez! :-(
