New York Times:

BEIJING -- At just 31 years old, Rui Chenggang has emerged as the media face of Chinese capitalism: young, smart and, to the dismay of some, deeply nationalistic.

His nightly financial news program attracts 13 million viewers on China Central Television, the nation's biggest state-run network, where Mr. Rui puts tough questions to Wall Street chiefs and Chinese economists while also delivering a dose of optimism about China's outlook.

The US has only 12 million middle class households. It has 80 million upper tier households. China has, at least, 100-247 million middle class people. Chinese financial punditry is not a surprise.

seen him on youtube. he has absolutely NO personality on air.,,mono tone, doesn't smile, and interviews like he's interrogating. probably got the job because of a relative of a relative related to a gov't official. you just don't get such high profile jobs in CHINA gov't run entities based on merit and his 'broadcasting' skills.
