LOS ANGELES — DJ AM is seeking $20 million in damages related to a plane crash in South Carolina last year that killed four others.

The celebrity disc jockey, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, is suing the plane's manufacturer, Learjet, and several other companies.

Goldstein is seeking $10 million for medical expenses, lost earnings, profits and economic damages and another $10 million related to non-economic losses, such as mental and physical pain, according to a document filed Friday.

A jury will decide any damage award if the case goes to trial.

Several of the companies sued last year by Goldstein and fellow crash survivor Travis Barker are seeking a trial delay until after a government investigation of the Sept. 19 crash is complete.

A lawyer for Learjet did not immediately return a phone message on Monday afternoon.

How many of you outraged, indignant people would change your tune if YOU almost died in a horrible, fiery plane crash?

It's easy to sit back and judge. Especially when you're operating from the false assumption that by their very definition all lawsuits are frivolous, typical conservative ideological claptrap, actually.

I don't know the details, but I think he may be bargaining...you know, asking for 20 million so that he gets something. Who knows how much he will get? Obviously, he suffered and lost income. I would think that the families of the deceased are also suing. This is definitely not a junk law suit so I'm gonna sit back and see what happens before I judge anyone.

Talk about greedy.

From what I understand of the incident, it had to do with poor maintenance on the part of the company that owned the charter. So why exactly is he going after Lear?

Oh wait, I know--because Lear has lots of money and it's all about the Benjamins to this guy.

Course, what do you expect? This guy has long had a reputation of being an @ss.

This guy is greedy. And after his plane crash he was showing off his melted Rolex. People lost their lives in the crash. The man has no tact.

Twenty million is a drop in the bucket when you take into account that he's scared forever physically and emotionally!
