John Oliver Confuses St. Patrick's Day Parade For AIG Protest (VIDEO)

John Oliver

When you send a Brit to cover the St. Patrick's Day, something bad is probably going to happen, but it doesn't usually involve the correspondent mistaking it for an economic protest.

That was the concept of John Oliver's hilarious look at how drunk people dressed in green reacted to AIG and job loss which included, "passing out in anger, throwing up in anger, pissing up against the side of buildings in anger."

The "Daily Show" has been focusing almost exclusively on the economy and the media's reactions to it. Last night, Stewart did segments on veteran's health insurance, AIG, and populist protests to the bailout. The night before, Samantha Bee took on short-selling, and of course, the week before Stewart took on Cramer.

Is this a wonderful social commentary spoof? Or is is just an English bloke taking a jab at the Irish?

Funny but as usual slyly on the mark.

That could be the best protest of all time...

I love this. Not because it's funny, but because of the social commentary.

We went after Dr. Frankenstein just for re-animating dead tissue; and now instead of tar and feathering A.I.G., we're getting loaded. I guess mobs in America are a little different than they are in Europe :)

This is a very funny piece.
