HuffPost Livechat With CNN's Jack Cafferty

Since 2005, Jack Cafferty has stalked CNN's Situation Room during "The Cafferty File," giving voice to the emails of CNN viewers, articulating his own outrages, and generally making Wolf Blitzer sweat. Along the way, he's racked up some impressive accomplishments in an almost five decade long career, including an Emmy, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and a New York Associated Press State Broadcasters Award.

Cafferty is also the author of two books, including the brand new Now or Never: Getting Down to the Business of Saving Our American Dream, in which he challenges the Obama administration to deliver some "change we will believe in when we see it." But a copy HERE!

Today, we are very pleased that the award-winning newsman will be joining the Huffington Post community for a live chat. This will be different from a "Twitterview," in that it will be "comprehensible." Also, it will be you, the Huff Post reader, that will get to ask Cafferty questions!

To me, there are only two true professionals on CNN. jack Cafferty and Michael Ware. I try to arrange my schedule around the times that Jack comes on during the Situation Room. I could definately use more "Cafferty time".

Cafferty is the best thing about the Situation Room, but I wish he had his own show.

Jack Cafferty you had the pleasure of interviewing one of my heroes growing up, Wendy O. Williams. I think the interview took place back in 1981. There's a clip of it on YouTube as well.

If I had the ability to ask you a question, it would be about what it was like to interview someone such as her, what you thought of her as a person and such as that. I suppose I envy journalists, such as yourself, in that you get to meet people from all walks of life and backgrounds. It must be an amazing job at times.

Jason, I'm a fan of yours but this was a very frustrating experience. I know I am among many who asked many great serious questions regarding AIG, Blue Dogs, legitimate journalism, Geithner and we ended up discussing crushes and bad breath? The only thing I got out of this was a new way to reference FOX NEWS!

Yes, exactly! Jason, you talk a good critique game while ridiculing the vapid Sunday TV talking heads; but as moderator of this thing, you could have gone for a bit more substance. As far as I'm concerned, by ignoring substantive questions for jokes and giggles, you pissed away a quarter of the hour.

And yes, I asked a couple of questions more substantive than "Does Wolf Blitzer have bad breath?"

I'm a huge Jack Cafferty fan, and became one the day he talked about Palin and the Catie Couric interview.
Jack speaks his mind and speaks the truth, and I never misss his show with Wolf Blitzer.

I wish they would get rid of Blitzer and replace him with Mr. Cafferty. I lost all respect for Wolf when he faltered during a Cheney interview (the one where he ask about his Cheney's gay daughter)

I'm with you...Jack Cafferty is the only journalist worth listening to. He speaks to the truth no matter who gets offended. I wish he would get his own TV time, maybe CNN should give him two hours of John King's three hours, I would set my alarm just to watch and listen.
Jack you're the man...keep up the good work and please, please, never sacrifice your integrity for ratings or money.

I'm sorry, but that was about the sorriest interview I've seen. I can't imagine that more and better issues could have been addressed. "The hour is drawing nigh"? Sheesh, the first five minutes could have covered this material. Blitzer's bad breath? Crushes on Michelle Obama? Viewer questions? Boy, that's some insightful material!
Still, I think Cafferty is just great and would like him to be given the pile of questions and sort them for himself; coming back with some follow-up.
