Anderson Cooper On "Ellen": Refuses To Dance, Talks "Real Housewives" (VIDEO)

Anderson Cooper appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Thursday but he refused to take part in the show's trademark dance.

Walking out after his introduction, Cooper put his head in his hands as Ellen tried to coerce him to dance.

"No one really wants to see a middle-aged guy with silver hair wriggling," he said. "It's not gonna happen. I'm a WASP. I was raised to suppress my emotions. I can't be publicly expressing things.

Anderson then referenced previous news personalities who have danced on Ellen's show.

"Plus, I saw what happened to Blitzer out here," he said.

"He was fine, he was not the trouble," Ellen said.

"It's a slippery slope, though, from Wolf Blitzer to Chris Matthews," Anderson responded.

Anderson and Ellen went on to discuss Bravo's "Real Housewives" series — one of his favorite topics — and why he prefers the Atlanta and Orange County shows to the New York edition.

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta to me were just kind of jaw-dropping," he said. "The Real Housewives of Orange County were just each more horrific than the next...I have not been able to commit to Real Housewives of New York because they just creep me out."

It is well known that he is gay. I don`t understand why he refuses to admit it, not a big deal anymore.
When asked he never denies it he just says he doesn`t talk about his personal life. I mean can you imagine him with a woman? Ellen should have asked him, maybe he would admit it to a gay woman.
Anyway he is going down with the ship at CNN they are down to 3rd in the ratings in primetime. He was about the only one who got any ratings and now he is sinking fast also.
CNN is boring tv, either go right or left but playing down the middle doesn`t attract any viewers.

I cannot watch "Ellen". She is just too sickening.

Something about her makes me cringe. I think it's the way way she is unable to talk to anyone unless she somehow puts them into an inferior position first. That's what the dancing is about. She has to make people look ridiculous in some way before she will talk to them.

I suppose this creates some kind of sick entertainment value to other like-minded people who also have self-esteem problems, but personally, I think it's disgusting.

Well I give Anderson credit, he could sit back and live off all that money his mother Gloria Vandervilt has, but he perfers to earn his own way in life and for that I give the man credit. So he can't dance and don't want to embarrass himself, he's not the only one that has come on Ellen's show and not dance.

He's always shown a good sense of humor about himself, and he was a fun goof back when he hosted the Mole. It's not hard to understand why someone would feel awkward dancing on TV when they know the footage is immediately going to be all over the net with people mocking it.

Anderson seems reserved and private and I'm willing to bet his mother suggested he not do it. Might embarrass the family. Although I think he should be able to live his life and it not be anybody's business.
