Among the mourners were all of her family, Lauren Bacall, Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman, Diane Sawyer, Howard Stern, Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, Matthew Modine and Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker. Broderick and Parker also offered their condolences to Richardson's husband Liam Neeson Thursday night as Broadway dimmed theater lights to honor the late Tony winner.

How bout we leave them the hell alone

Very sad - my heart goes out to the family. In the pictures we see faces that reflect pain and sorrow.

Wonderful that they all were there to support the family, but I'm disappointed that not one of the show-biz heavyweights pictured decided to show respect for her by wearing a kneck tie. Why is Vanessa not wearing black? How come nobody shaved or got a haircut?

What are (or aren't) we teaching our children folks?

Seeing Liam Neeson and their two beautiful sons made me think the really hard part is ahead of them. They've buried Natasha, the friends and family have gone now, and they're going to have to find a way to go on with their lives without their wife and mother. Nothing will ever pass for normal again! As terrible as the death is, the aftermath can be crushing as well. I know. Prayers and peace extended to them all...

Dear Liam, We didn't know your Lady except in picture shows..She was a class of Lady we felt that we could know..Life plays many tricks on us with outcomes so uncertain..Expecially in the final act when life draws its final curtain..No words or.. if onlys...can undo the setting sun..No bargains with our maker...can reverse what fate has done..Memories are a different story.. for they're ours to hold forever..Till we meet the ones we love in the land of Never...Never want,Never need,Never cry a tear..Never hurt,Never miss,Never have a fear..So till you & Natasha are forever one again..Hold her memories & her Love.. till the very end..Live your life with your boys and loving family ...the way she would have lived her life, if she was here to be...And may your heart be untroubled when your yearning grows so strong..May you hear the Angel Choir in their peaceful song..I wish for you that each day opens with a smiling sun...that a rainbow follows every rain.. & your days are filled with BlueBirds of Happiness.. & God's Love always shuts out your pain.. .. Spirited Dona Congratulates the Spirit of Natasha Richardson that Lives on , with a love, that an Irish, (Gaelic), Husband could only have provided, sons, who can make those of us left proud, as a woman without a sister, Joely, may have a piece of my Heart to ask God to pull her upwards, just as Natasha did! Liam, when he was young, made me cry when he felt sad or shy! Imagine how I love him with time!

I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to Mr Neeson, Misses Redgrave and Richardson, and the children, family and close friends of Natasha Richardson. This is a tragic turn of events, and my wish for those left grieving is that they know that Natasha will always be with them. Having lost my father five months ago to cancer, I am often aware that it feels like he is still with me, even in the room, and my mother has noted the same thing. Such a strong presence can never be fully erased. May you also feel the presence of your Natasha so strongly. It will be some comfort, I promise, even in your sadness, in the coming months.

I am so sorry for the family that all this is playing out so much as a public spectacle, but I wish for you to know that, while some are vultures, many truly care and follow your sorrow as if it were their own, and, like me, wish they could change what happened. May the love of friends and family comfort you in the weeks and months ahead. God is everywhere. I wish you peace.

Au Revoir to a talented actress and a loving, caring mother and wife.

I'm still not processing this very well; it's so dang tragic and sad.

Anyway, I know all get tomatoes about this since I clicked in to comment; but can't we let these folks grieve her in privacy? Did they really need the paparazzi nipping at their ankles? I didn't need to see a who's who of those in attendance.

Finally, condolences and prayers for family and friends.

Well said MNmommy. Made me sick to see the media act the way they did. Everybody grieving - family and celebrities alike - needed to be left alone, period. It's called common decency. This close knit, loving, family to suffer this loss . .I am just heartsick for them all.

Liam Neeson, really loved that woman. He did not let her lie in a bed like a vegetable for years on end. I am struck by that, because you gotta love someone to let them go. My mother died when I was 14, you never get over that loss, you just learn to live with it. My prayers go out to the family.

I agree. My husband was on life support--my children were 15 and 10 at the time. He collapsed in our backyard and I couldn't bear to see him hooked up to machines; especially knowing that he would never recover. As painful a decision as it is to make, it is one that truly shows love. Liam Neeson loved her in life, and allowed her a dignified death. My heart goes out to him and his sons. Now that everyone gone, the quiet sets in. The loss of that companionship is one of the most difficult things to get over, but in time it will get better.

I never saw her in play, just a few movies, yet because of her family legacy I feel that I knew her mother, her aunt and her husband.

And what I think has shaken so many people is that from the time she fell on the bunny slope to the time she was most likely dead was only FOUR HOURS. I just keep thinking about all the times I've fallen or hit my head. Life is precious people, cherish it!
