I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Suze Bush

In a long profile by WWD's Jacob Bernstein, Suze Orman sounds off on George Bush and blames the ex-president for the financial crisis (near the bottom of the first page):

Sitting in a green room after her TV interviews, she lambasts everyone from Alan Greenspan to Larry Summers to the former president of the United States, who holds an especially dark place in her heart. "Commander in Chief?" she says of George W. Bush, with a mix of disbelief and scorn. "You blew up every single financial vessel we had and if you think you aren't personally responsible, well, the blame starts at the top. There is no higher top than you, SIR! If I were you, I would feel so absolutely horrific that I would take every penny I had and distribute it to anybody and everybody to help them in whatever way I could. You owe the American people every penny of your fortune and your family's fortune."

Orman also calls being impersonated by SNL's Kristen Wiig the “greatest honor of my career" and that often during her show she is forced to stop and think, "Ugh. I’m playing Kristen Wiig."

What Does the World Look Like After Capitalism Falls?

The news is filled with fear and collapse of the global economy. How interesting has it become since the doctrine of capitalism has been analyzed in terms of its effect on society. During times of prosperity, the effects on society seemed far removed and inconsequential. These effects have caused devastating and catastrophic losses and conditions upon the owners and individual benefactors once suffered only by the nameless society once in its wake.
Society has now come full circle to be called to save its benefactors becayse because they still do not know how to recover the loss they have caused to themselves and to us, amidst the throws of their own salvation. Worse yet, they appear to be less than owing to this great society they claimed to have once upheld.
Who will go down in history as “the capitalist who made it?"
The burden that now has been placed upon society to uplift the rich is now and new, and they are less than humble and in denial over finding themselves somehow among them: in need of a government bail out.
How ironic are the poor that were poor before the economic collapse that are still the poor. They are the least affected by the economic downturn and now the people the rich can now learn the most from. Now the rich must learn what its like to be poor.

But wait, there's more.
"The former Federal Reserve chairman, Alan Greenspan, has conceded that the global financial crisis has exposed a "mistake" in the free market ideology which guided his 18-year stewardship of US monetary policy...It was the first time the man hailed for masterminding the world's longest postwar boom has accepted any culpability for the crisis that has engulfed the global banking system"

So should Alan Greenspan and his NBC news reporter wife Andrea Mitchell start coughing up some money? Or is this still all Bush's fault.

She provided aid and comfort to one of the most culpable architects of the house of cards that ill-support our financial markets. Considering the emotional toll, the fear and uncertainty of the future, that the financial collapse has taken on the world, that's serious terrorism.

She is pandering to you and her audience. What possible motive could Suze have for saying what she has said about President Bush? Hmmmm, let me see, appealing to a younger, "more hip" audience maybe? How about helping CNBC recover from the Cramer debacle with the Jon Stewart crowd? I am waiting to see if she has a new book coming out soon. Why do I think this? Because she knows better. If she is HALF the economist that she proclaims to be, then she knows that George Bush alone could not have done this. As I said earlier, Alan Greenspan, the Head of the Fed for 18 years (through 4 presidents) is the most culpable. He was advisor and confidante to Presidents and many others who accepted his word on the economy as the gold standard. Google Greenspan and start educating yourselves. It is too easy to jump on the hate Bush bandwagon. Dig deeper, there is more too this. Be your own HERO for learning something today and not just listening to another celeb spout off. Trust me, this is the best post you will read all day.

And this is related to this story - how? So Joe Kennedy made his money bootlegging? So?

Shouldn't you be on the Sarah Palin, Rush, Billo right wing blog?

Besides bootlegging and Hollywood pictures, Joe Kennedy made his fortune on Wall Street. He virtually created short selling. He would shout, "Buy! Buy! Buy!" while selling, shorting, amassing his fortune, and decimating the savings of others. There are some excellent biographies about him, even one by his grandson, Christopher Lawford. The point is that history is repeating itself - at our expense - by all political parties.

Please note correction to my earlier comment. The author is Ronald Kessler. The biography is loaded with interviews with Kennedy members (ie Chris Lawford.) There are several bios on old Joe.

No, George W. Bush WAS THE worse thing that could have EVER happened to America and now he and his writers are trying to revise history in his "new book". Dear God, we are just about tanked/ruined and we have a chance to set the world straight with the help of Obama and some of the brightest minds in the nation. Please hold every rethug accountable and clean house in two years.
Vasta is correct, there is no comparison in the Kennedy and Bush deals and thievery. WHOLE different world we're now in.
We need to know the Jeb/Lehman connection!!!!!!!

There is a reason why your name is 'average.'

1.) Your spelling incriminates your name,

2.) Your writing is reminiscent of your name,

3.) The concepts you espouse are illustrative of, es, your name,

4.) Your logic is worse than...that's right, your name....

Ta ta, turdhead.

When you are a no talent family of polital operatives like the Bush Family, all you can do is suck the blood out of the American people. Bush only protected the part of America that he was feeding on. The privatization of Social Security was to be the coupe de gras for Bush Inc.

We all knew the "aw shucks cowboy", I believe he was called more correctly a windshield cowboy, was a ruse. George Jr., with a silver spoon in his mouth, failed at every job he ever attempted, and sadly until he was president I was never touched by his failures. He totally wasted a first class education. Now he's going to make a bundle on his "authoritarian" book. Don't buy it. Boycott the book. I won't even buy a book from his publisher. I agree with Suzie, he owes us big time. Does he even have a philanthropic bone in his body?

Yes, indeed. The confiscation of corporate assets of 'Daddy Dearest Prescott' should have been front and center a long time ago and mentioned in every article about those parasites.
Now why do you think that did not happen?

If you guessed because they are all so cute, well you need more than glasses.

Bush, Cheney, etal. are doing NOTHING to help America, with their 8 years of experience.

Bush literally said he was leaving it to the next president, whoever he or she would be, to clean up and get out of Iraq.

At least he could man up and offer his experience..

And Cheney is only offering fear-mongering dark speculation about possible weaknesses of the administration that followed him.

Republicans are petulant children.
