Suze Bush

In a long profile by WWD's Jacob Bernstein, Suze Orman sounds off on George Bush and blames the ex-president for the financial crisis (near the bottom of the first page):

Sitting in a green room after her TV interviews, she lambasts everyone from Alan Greenspan to Larry Summers to the former president of the United States, who holds an especially dark place in her heart. "Commander in Chief?" she says of George W. Bush, with a mix of disbelief and scorn. "You blew up every single financial vessel we had and if you think you aren't personally responsible, well, the blame starts at the top. There is no higher top than you, SIR! If I were you, I would feel so absolutely horrific that I would take every penny I had and distribute it to anybody and everybody to help them in whatever way I could. You owe the American people every penny of your fortune and your family's fortune."

Orman also calls being impersonated by SNL's Kristen Wiig the “greatest honor of my career" and that often during her show she is forced to stop and think, "Ugh. I’m playing Kristen Wiig."

How about Secretary of the Treasury Suze Orman? She would be the first openly gay person in the US Cabinet, and she would have a clear coherent plan for the future. Besides, I trust her alot more than Geitner.

Sure, why not?

If that TV doctor, CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta, could be nominated for the high level position surgeon general of the United States, why not Suze Orman? She at least has as much credibility.

George Bush, the father, has gotten such a complete pass on what he imposed on the country -- His son.

He was behind his son's plans to get into the White House. It was George Herbert Walker Bush who set up the tutorials, brought together the kitchen cabinet to groom his son for the presidency.

Don't ever let them tell you that his father wasn't behind it. He was behind it all.

Under GWB every possible organization that could be deregulated was. Mustn't let government get in the way. The private sector can do it better and can regulate themselves. All those mantras of the right that brought us down.

Bush bought a walled compound in a suberb filled with other republican owned walled compounds. This is how Republican leaders live. Do you honestly think they care about anyone or anything outside that walled compound? That's exactly why they built it. That's why they only fly in private jets. Can you picture G.W. Bush or Rush Limbaugh actually going grocery shopping? How about Mitt Romney the hedge fund manager who became a billionair. It's like the AIG executives who honestly believe they "earned" those 100 million dollar bonuses.

I swear to God some of you liberals are braindead. Kerry has a compound, the Kennedy's have a compound, nearly every rich person has a compound. The Clintons have a compound....have you ever heard of protection????? Look what the idiots in NY are trying to do to those poor families whose only vice was working for AIG......get a life...

I don't know how GW sleeps at night; maybe he doesn't. He and his cronies and his old man and his whole family are responsible for the downfall of our economy. For his eight years he was guided by the likes of Cheney and Rove who are lining their pockets and don't give two hoots about the everyday man.
At least Suzie makes her money in trying to inform and guide people. Unlike the administration of the last eight years, who faked their way through to the detriment of the country and their own financial gain. For GW to have a library is one good joke. Who would visit that god forsaken place, anyway?

No, W is probably busy thinking about one of his favorite books, Hop on Pop.

Do you remember when GW said that he sleeps well at night? That he makes decisions and then moves on. You know, like when Carla Faye Tucker was put to death and he made heartless remarks about her. This is a man who does not admit to making mistakes, regardless of the abundant evidence engulfing us. He's focused now on replenishing the coffers and sending his cronies out to try to salvage his legacy by rewriting history. Authoritarians are always certain that they are right.

Understand, I voted democratic. But..........
By the end of the Clinton presidency, many of his supporters viewed his radical reforms within the lending community as one of his great accomplishments, the N.Y.Times praised him for making " homeownership among minorities a priority" ( Nov. 14, 1999 ). The L.A. Times , "one of the hidden success stories of the Clinton era ". With the Texas Senator Phil Graham and Bill Clinton and all their banking deregulation, corruption and greed, this was the major affect with the lenders subprime morgages unable to be repaid and the lier loans and lies of the people.

On a number of issues Clinton was moderate, at best. This is one of those.

Hmmmm - sorry - don't believe you voted dem.
I worked with hundreds and hundreds of home buyers between the year 1989 and 2007. I handled working with the banks and mortgage lenders. After 2003 almost any of the questionaires and verifications or guidelines were followed by banks were gone. They were handing out bloated loans and the appraisal process became a joke.
Bush was the biggest disaster ever and Phil Graham was a Republican and his biggest successes of deregulation happened during the Bush years. So stop it, please. My husband was a chief financial officer in banking and also overlooked the lending division so he knows what he is talking about. I don't say Clinton was innocent. But Bush is the one who should get most of the blame.
Your protection of Bush speaks volumes. Typical repug. You are blaming all but Bush.

In case you didn't notice, this is about Bush, not Clinton. Is anyone else as sick and tired as I am of hearing Clinton brought up by someone almost every time Bush is mentioned? GWB makes Bill Clinton look like a saint in comparison. Bill Clinton was taken down by a blue dress, while Bush Sr. was involved in Iran contra and his son is a mass murderer and neither has ever received so much as a slap on the wrist and never will.

Bush supporters should also want such a commission, to show that the facts prove his innocence. Or else you're all lying and you know he's guilty.

In case YOU didn't notice, the left has almost a perverse preoccupation with George Bush. I am sick of hearing Bush Hatred. It started the day he was elected in Nov. 1999 and continued non-stop with a brief pause at 9/11. It would have been unpatriotic to hate him then, right? Bill Clinton was taken down by a lie, not a blue dress. He perjured himself. The President perjured himself on the witness stand. He was disbarred. No Saint. Get over it. History will out the Bush family - or not. You'll have to wait and see. So you got your Obama. Shut up for a while. Or do you feel the need to keep after Bush just in case Obama screws up somewhere along the line and you still need a fall guy.

She doesn't hawk stocks on her show and scream crappy advice like cramer. She advocates for paying off debt, not using credit cards and saving. That sounds like pretty mainstream advice.
