Think Progress:

During a speech at the University of Minnesota last week, investigative reporter Seymour Hersh claimed that the Bush administration had employed "an executive assassination ring" that "reported directly to the Cheney office." In an Boston Herald op-ed today, Fox News' Bill O'Reilly mocked Hersh's claim, saying "If Cheney really had such a crew," reporters like Hersh would have already been killed.

If God was vengeful, O'Reilly would be singing for Satan.

Oh, Bill, Bill . . . threatening people from your odious podium again?

Who do you think you are, Pat Robertson?

But thank you for the "information" on Cheney . . .

Why doesn't someone roll up a newspaper and smack this bad dog? And while you're at it, tighten up his leash...he's got a little too much range for his limited abilities.

There must be some kind of genetic thing going on with Republicans.
It's like they are all violence this, killing that, guns, war, hate ....

everything that comes out of their mouth is seething with violent innuendos full of hatred.

They aren't happy unless they have someone to hate and fight. They thrive on mean.
Are they that unhappy? Are they that afraid?

Talk about ugly Americans.

Part 1 of 2

I think they represent a different species of hominids, and they are warring against Homo Sapiens.

Their hatred and fear are driven by many things, not the least of which is profit. As WW2 proved, war can be very very profitable. And we that are challenging their hegemony in these things are challenging their gravy train...only problem is, it's not gravy, it's blood. They live for conflict and domination of others they consider to be beneath them.

The whole "Proud to be an American" milieu is such pandering to this mindset. A mindset I saw begin with the knee-jerk reactionaries to the protests against the Vietnam war. I marched in 1970 (when I was in high school) in the Moratorium (regarding Nixon bombing Cambodia) against that illegal war, and I remember anti-protesters along the route we marched, mostly jocks as I recall, football heads screaming obscenities about loving your country or leaving it, or my country right or wrong...that sort of swill. It was an eye opener for me at the time...and it has progressed into a real movement ever since, a movement that hates the liberal democracy that this country was founded as.

A lot less hateful than calling Bill O'Reilly that...which if you hadn't noticed, is what this article was about BO'Reilly, dummy. And if you want to say nasty things about Obama, why don't you just say them, rather than cynically hiding behind a proxy to shovel your malodorous filth.

It's a crude thing to say...but it's true.

No journalist has done more to p*ss-off Cheney than Hersh...which is why Mr. Hersh is what we call a "good investigative journalist," a nearly extinct species.

But Cheney's mouthpieces like O'Really would be just fine. Makes it pretty obvious who's truly objective, doesn't it?

This moronic buffoon spurts off like a volcano with its devastating effects. If there were a world without fools, then Bill would no longer exist He should be thankful because the Almighty provides room for the just as well as for unjust, the great and the small, the rich and the poor, the educated as well as the uneducated, the grateful as well as the ungrateful. Bill, you should be thankful that you are present among the living, not by some miraculous things you have done, but by the allowance of the One who is above all. How dare you say the things you say? I don’t know if it is your ignorance or your showboating, but there is One who truly knows your dark, dark heart.

I am going to establish a new city called "Trollville" Bill can be the mayor and Rush can be the sheriff.
All the negative little trolls can go live there and complain to their heats content.

Any suggestions where it should be located? We have lots of empty land in Canada but we don't really want them. Any suggestions?

If there is any doubt to how Americans think this video clip on You Tube pretty much shows why they need a larger investment in Education:

If nothing else it explains how George Bush could elected once let alone twice.

I just watched that video. I hope they were trying to be funny...Given that we just lost another 4 soldiers in Afghanistan over the weekend, it is hard as a Canadian to watch that drivel. Perhaps we should keep the oil, natural gas and water we export to the United States and give it to a country that appreciates us.

Those squads are a serious issue, not something to joke about. Orally probably knows as little about this as the rest of us do. Reporter he isn't.

Well,,, If Billo is out there sooo hot and heavy,,, you know Cheney is sweating it out over this Revelation.

I remember the Sy Hersh interview where Hersh reported that he was told by many of his contacts in Washington,,, call back,,, after January 20th,,, AFTER Bush and Cheney are gone.

That alone says it all.

Now we are seeing the torture memos,,, I suppose Bill will try to explain those away. ALSO,, the Authorization to use Military Force on US soil,,, against American civilians.

Not,,, National Guard,,,, for disaster relief,, or to disburse looters like in Katrina. Real Time,, Regular and Irregular (Special Ops) on US Soil.

Looks like the,,, House of Cards,,, of the Neo-Con Excesses are tipping and about to fall, and Billo is trying STILL,,, to prop them up.

I wonder,, and maybe some our Members may know,,, Is there a simple,, easy to read,,,, Website,,, that lists all the Books from Journalists, Washington Reporters, Generals, Admirals, Soldiers, Elected and Career Officials and others,,, that are pulling the COVERS off these last 8 years of Cheney and Bush?

Something easy to Navigate.

All the best

Hersh won his first Pulitzer for his coverage of the My Lai Massacre in 1969. In his 40 plus year career of award winning journalism, Sy Hersh has never been sued for sexual harassment nor has he ever settled such a suit for an undisclosed amount. O'Reilly should be so fortunate. As far as O'Reilly's comments on Cheney's assassination squads, O'Reilly should stick to his mistake laden rants and his penetrating interviews. So far no one has written any books outlining Hersh's lies and mistakes, yet in a career that is about a quarter as long as Hersh's and that no one will say is as significant, O'Reilly has had several such books written about him. I own one of them. O'Reilly would do well to emulate rather than castigate Hersh. Hersh's record is exemplary, O'Reilly's record is that of a ranting hack.
