Olbermann And Terkel Discuss O'Reilly Ambush War

Bill O'Reilly harassment victim Amanda Terkel appeared on Countdown With Keith Olbermann Tuesday night to discuss the Fox News host's long-waged ambush war.

Terkel was followed and pestered by O'Reilly's producer last week while vacationing in Virginia, the footage of which was aired on O'Reilly's show Monday night, with an appended lie about the Think Progress blogger.

On Olbermann's show, Terkel noted the irony of O'Reilly's actions: "Bill O'Reilly was trying to show that he cares about women who have been victims of crime. So to make that point, he sends two men to find my home address and to follow me on vacation? I mean, it was incredibly disturbing. The rest of the weekend, I was constantly looking over my shoulder, wondering how long they had been following me, if they're still following me."

Bill its okay we realize you are number one when it comes to BS. And now stalking a young girl who is on vacation? Wow, thats well -just exactly like all those paparazzi you constantly complain about. Oreilly has done some horrible things in the past and spread some of the biggest lies around. The bragging, the boasting, the shameful plugs planted in email questions is beyond
belief.

The real folks don't care if your #1 for 100 days, months or minutes.
McDonald's is the # 1 fast food restaurants in the world, yet it serves up the most tasteless
hamburgers on the planet.
The situation is no different here.

Like most of the so called commentators on fox, extremely out of touch with the real world, the real folks, and reality in general.

WOW! The corporate response to the call for a boycott is having some effect. I heard on Ms. Terkel's ThinkProgress.org that Ford was blocking their email form letter, so I sent my own email to Ford's director of communications and got an almost immediate reply (at what would have been 11:30PM EDT). Someone is paying attention to this! I had said that I was done with Ford and would not even accept a Ford rental car, and that I was writing directly because I understood (from Think Progress) that they were blocking the email form letter.

I am a private citizen, and, to tell the truth, had never heard of Think Progress before tonight. But are you starting to get the idea that people are, you might say, really pissed off?

I'm in corporate IT. What else would be done but block that particular email address? And maybe the originating IP address of that server, too.

For the amount of mail? Just keep count. And realize that the ratio of people who will actually
write as opposed to those who are just going to be on the negative side of your net promoter score is, what, maybe 1:25?

I work at Ford and support Ford, but have no idea how the decisions are made on where we advertise. Frankly, as a mainstream company, we advertise everywhere there are good ratings. That is not an endorsement of the show — that is recognition that people are watching the show. Don’t know why they watch that mindless ranting. But they watch in droves. Welcome to America, I guess

I saw the tapes of O’Reilly ambushing Hertzberg of the New Yorker a few month back. It demonstrated how moronic O’Reilly really is. I still read Hertzberg weekly in the New Yorker. And I never, ever watch Bill O’Reilly. Don’t know when he is on. Don’t care. And that’s how you get rid of a show, stop watching. When the ratings dive, the advertisers will leave. The network will kill it off. If we pull our advertising, others will simply pick up the empty spots, and happily so. The show will go on. Sadly.

Best of luck. If I had more time, I’d visit ThinkProgress.org. Too busy trying to get Ford back on its feet though. That is important. What Bill O’Reilly does or says is not important.

That's not very effective - it's filtered out about as easily as spam. How about if you are a customer of any of those companies listed there (Capital One, AT&T, Sharp, Audi, Mercedes Benz, P&G and Johnson & Johnson), call their customer support line and complain about it (or threaten to end your service over it if that's relevant).

If enough people do that a) it will be much more of a headache for the company because support lines are expensive and b) it will directly threaten their profits. Customers are much worth more than ad viewers.

That is sort of true. So I wrote and sent my own email - and received an almost immediate reply from the corporate communications director of one of his sponsors (at what would have been 11:30PM EDT!). The generic email is maybe not getting through, but the guy asked me if I didn't think the 900 emails in his delete box were overkill. I told him that he should be more worried about the people who don't write and just stay mad at that sponsor, which in my guess would be about a 25:1 ratio.

One person writing may not have an effect, but you can bet the thought of over 20,000 people mad at them will definitely be the subject of some serious calls to Faux Noise HQ tomorrow.
