Washington lawyer Thomas Dunlap is under fire for attempting to sell a video of Ashley Biden, the 27-year-old daughter of Joe Biden, allegedly snorting lines of cocaine at a Delaware party last month.

The New York Post claims that Dunlap showed it 90 seconds of the 43-minute tape, which purportedly shows Ashley doing lines of coke with a red straw in front of witnesses and later shouting "Shut the F-- Up!" The newspaper reported that the seller wanted $2 million before dropping his price to $400,000.

Radar Online reported that Dunlap has since dropped the client after he learned the tape was recorded on a hidden camera, complaining about all the "negative attention."

Dunlap told RadarOnline.com early Sunday that he is no longer involved in the attempted sale of the video and informed his client he would not continue to represent him. The lawyer said he did not want to be involved due to circumstances surrounding the publicity of the matter.

According to the New York Post, the video in question shows a woman who looks like Biden talking and snorting several lines of cocaine with a straw.

The video ... shows a 20-something woman with light skin and long brown hair taking a red straw from her mouth, bending over a desk, inserting the straw into her nostril and snorting lines of white powder.

She then stands up and begins talking with other people in the room.

Vice President Joe Biden, who coined the term "drug czar" in 1982, has not yet commented on the story.

Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, adds that fellow lawyers are stunned by Dunlop's behavior:

While most people are shocked by the craven acts of the still unidentified friend, most lawyers are equally shocked by the involvement of a member of the bar in allegedly shopping this tape to tabloids for the highest bidder.

Biden is a social worker for a Delaware child-welfare agency.

Like Marijuana, I used to support the Decriminalization of Cocaine; then something happened to change my mind.
It's called C-R-A-C-K!!!
If Ms. Biden has snorted a few lines, well - so have I! Not to mention that guy at that upscale bar, circa 1989, who - having, apparently, just made fortune playing the market earlier that day - was dispensing free lines, which were going round and round the top of a toliet-tank lid, to anyone entering the mens room.
Mr. Drug Czar word coiner; if it ain't crack - and she isn't shooting anything up, then don't sweat it.
Also, may I suggest that you (or any HuffPost Readers interested in THE REAL TRUTH) go to; http://www.csdp.org/publicservice/halsted.pdf
In this little item, you'll learn about "The (I.V. Cocaine) Addict who invented Modern Surgery" - Dr. William Steward Halstead; who was one of the founders of Johs Hopkins University!!!
He kept a little book; which was opened, per his will, after his death; in which he detailed his safe and sane use of I.V. Cocaine from the time that he discovered it (Civil War Battle Surgeon), up until his death. he was vehemently anti-punnishment for 'abuse'; based on the idea that, if he could become one of the Greatest Surgeons of All Time, then what other 'wasted' talent might be wasting away in some Penal Institution (today, unable to get a Student Loan), who instead might be a Great Man/Woman, too?

Wow--sounds like he wanted to get every doctor-in-training to get hooked on intravenous cocaine, whether they liked it or not. Worked for him, so why not?

well I HOPE it isn't true, but if it is, well it proves that DRUG LAWS are meant for those lower class, whites and all minority voters. After all it was also a friend that outed Michael Phelps, so be careful who you associate and choose to be your friends. Fare weather friends are just using you, life long friends are their for you. Drugs like anything when abused can killed, excess of water kills, drugs like any other opens one soul to different portals and understanding. Tobacco was used by the first americans for spiritual purpose, marijuana by bob marley and others for the same, poppy by asians for spirituality. Blue eyed whites created drug laws to enslave others and to star a business venture in illecite drug trade. President Calderone of Mexico is correct the DRUG TRADE is a farce and the US politicians are all involved.

Maybe we should legalize cocaine too?

i'm all for it. the price of cocaine would immediately drop, and border violence would cease, as pharmaceutical companies could import the crop directly from farmers, regulate and optimize production, and offer higher grade product for lower prices. the dea wouldn't require as much budget, and the drug business could reap massive profits, rather than costing taxpayers a fortune for a war that can never be won.

the incentive for crime would disappear, since the cost of the drugs would be significantly cheaper. distribution could be regulated through drug pharmacies, and mandatory physician referrals could be dispensed by pharmacists.

or something like that.

the legalization of drugs isn't a perfect system, but it's much better than what we've got now. i don't want to spend another dime on a war that can't be won, that results in artificially inflated prices for an inferior product.

listen, laws on some level are worthless; good people don't need em, and bad people don't abide by em. once you accept this, and the fact that you will never, ever, ever, ever stop people from doing what they want to do, you just give up trying to control other people, provided that what they're doing isn't affecting other people in any great way.

I`m sorry, I misinterpreted your polymathic message. You are better than Jay Gould! Heard of him? He wrote many many good books. I am sure you have read at least few of his books.Of course, your advocation of cocaine and your casual view of this harmful and illegal drug makes one doubt the original wellspring of your dogma, should you have any dogma. Or perhaps your *carma killed your dogma?
*(The "c" is intentional.) Let`s study a word a day together. Today`s word is "reprobate"
See? Now I have helped enlarge your vocabulary.Socrates thanks me for trying my level best to help you. Boy, I feel all warm and fuzzy inside!Fan of Queen, right? Am I right?

The legalization of drugs is not only not a perfect system, it's a lousy system, but it's much better than what we've got.

As for "mandatory physician referrals could be dispensed by pharmacists", that wouldn't work. You'd still have an illegally-acquired drug trade fueled by people who couldn't manage to get a physician referral (kids, mainly). No, we need to develop some kind of drug legalization approach that controls advertising, doesn't glamorize drugs, makes the damaging effects of drugs common knowledge, etc.

We should separate legal issues from drug issues as much as possible. I think that existing alcohol laws could be applied to drugs until we can come up with something smarter. Drugs are health/medical issues and should not be treated as crimes. That way we could stop all of the illegal trafficking, monitor production, tax the product and treat the very real problems caused by alcohol and drug addiction.

Association Journalism should STOP! Just because you associate with someone, you are bound at the Hip & Brain?

Too much is made of the Birds of a Feather analogue.

Your husband Cheats on you are you now responsible? Or he drinks too much, your fault?

You have a few friends that gamble, curse, or hang out with people that make horrible choices, your fault?

Parents Cannot control Adult Children, unless they become tyrants, you keep children first in your life for 18 to 21 years.

Therefore, you are held responsible for what they do as Adults WOW!

If you carry on with the same manner of Behavior then maybe you are bound in some manner.

Man you dems sure love to operate on convience. Biden's daughter is very lucky her dad is a dumocrat- had this been a a GOP'er's kid- it would be the talking point on every media show in the country- except Fox. Dumocrats- get some freaking credibilty.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:54 PM on 03/31/2009

Fox would report it too (fair and balanced) I know that tag line has been ridiculed in every way possible on SNL, Letterman, etc but you can not get the kind of commentary from both sides as you do on Fox.
I agree with you otherwise though. If it's Palins daughters boyfriend or mr. gold medal Olimpian or whoever is the latest story you hear about it on every channel, substatiated or not, until your sick of it. But if it's a Dem/Lib it may get a brief mention and forgotten as quick as possible.

Oh how the Republican Noise Machine howled and cried when anyone would even mention the Bush twins! Off Limits!! A hanging offense. We'll Gitmo your ass in a heartbeat!!!

Everyone already knows those two "sweethearts" were caught drinking (underage, and over and over), and I'm sure if there were any hidden cameras around, lord knows what might have been caught on tape!

But we know it's all about the double standard with the Rightwing Rethugs. Do as I #$*&^#%$* say, not as I do! Ha!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:08 PM on 03/31/2009

the only problem is that when you get mad at the republicans for being mad about this it's really just you being hypocritical and doing the exact same thing that you're accusing the republicans for. (I hope you followed that, cause it got a little confusing) If you are going to berate republicans for getting on Biden's case, then you should also have berated democarats for getting on Bush's case...... it's funny, because everyone involved in politics wants to be pissed, but it usually just ends up in hypocrisy (both sides of the aisle)

Is it probable that the NYP didn't buy the tape because there's no clear evidence that is is Biden? I'd bet a large sum of money if they knew it was her they would have bought it.

If a hot girl can't do blow in public without it becoming a big deal, I don't know what this country is coming to.

Why do we as a society desperately look for our 15 minutes of fame? Even more the big payoff? Haven't we seen enough greed and disregard for the rights of others over the last several years?

Is nastiness and greed so embeded in our culture that all we really want is to see somebody else fall?

So what if Joe Biden coined the term drug czar. What does that have to do with anything???? Please all you members of the "sleeze factor" get a life.
