Limbaugh: 'If Obama Fails, America Is Saved'

Bill O'Reilly wants to see President Obama succeed, he says, but Rush Limbaugh is as adamant as ever that he hopes Obama will fail in the White House. During his Monday radio show, he told listeners that Obama's failure would mean the country would be "saved."

"Based on what we've seen with General Motors and the banks, if he fails, America is saved," Limbaugh said. "Barack Obama's policies and their failure is the only hope we've got to maintain the America of our founding."

O'Reilly has a different outlook. Asked if he want Obama to fail: "No. We want him to succeed. We want to persuade him that perhaps some of his policies are not going to help him succeed."

Sooner or later, as the Obama administration succeeds, people will grow weary of the verbal vomit they choose to digest daily, while Limbaugh snickers all the way to the bank. Think about it, what he offers is neither constructive criticism nor reasonable solution. He only feeds the inferior side of human character that need to be consistently enraged for reasons having nothing to do with the subject matter.

Clearly Rush has not thought this through, which appears to be a common trait on the right. I know that Republicans don't believe in consequences, but the fact that they don't believe in them doesn't mean they don't exist, it just means they don't take them into consideration when they formulate policies. (Look at the current situation if you need proof). If he had thought this through and considered the consequences he would realize that the failure of the American Presidency would not just magically make everything okay again and restore our society to the one the Founders envisioned. My guess is there would be extremely dire consequences to such a failure all around the world. It would take a strong and popular leader to put this country back together after such an occurrence, if that would even be possible, and I don't see anyone on the right that is capable of that level of leadership. Republican leadership brought us to where we are now, and more of it is not likely to make anything better. I suppose there is no point in asking Rush to think before he speaks.

You're right in your assessment; however, it is the MSM that should be responsible and not use what they realize are 20M viewers who they can pander and sway into their corner by winking and nodding at Rush's bs. The real problem with our nation is the letdown in morals by those who run and operate business operations in the MSM, they are fundamentally ammoral and do not see beyond their ratings and profits. We are able to now clearly see how greed has taken ahold and destroyed the financial industry, but seeing the same monster within the media industry is not so apparent or so far reaching that it affects us in the same way.

The effect of a lack of responsibility is much slower, but just as devestating to us as citizens and our involvement in our national affairs; drop out rates, crime, greed and selfishness has clouded our ability to understand what as Americans we value as we see so few leaders brought to us, who are role models that are working in the best interest of their nation. Eventually, this sort of feeling takes over and becomes the larger reality, even if some do exist who are trying to fullfill their duties.

A media which seeks first to entertain is just as destructive as the thieves in our banks.
