I Like ItI Don’t Like It

The Hill:

President Obama didn't want any advice from Congress on the decision to ask GM CEO Rick Wagoner to resign, according to Carl Levin (D), Michigan's senior senator.

"He didn't ask us about it, he informed us," Levin told reporters in a conference call Monday afternoon. "The president said he'd already decided."

Maybe if Levin and his other corhorts had done their job then President Obama wouldn't have to do it for them. Levin and others have been the biggest enablers where the auto industry have been concern and now the two companies has to reap the consquences!

The President doesnt have to check with Congress as far as every decision that he makes. I would rather leave that to the important decisions I dont consider the decision to let GM CEO go that important a decision that Congress needed to know. I think thats just silly. Let's get some perspective here please

Like this needed any debate. It was right in the sense that the guy had to go. It just feels icky that the government is doing it.

Not to mention, this guy should have stepped down all on his own.

Wagoner approves the Hummer, dozens of gas-guzzling SUV's and "cross-overs", the new useless Camaro, but doesn't invest in R&D for their own hybrid designs or clean diesels? Obama is right: FIRE HIM!

Telephone rings:

"Hello, (President) Barack Obama here. I'd just like to find out from each and every member of congress whether I should have ham and eggs, or just plain toast for breakfast today"

Seriously, isn't the President already working with a committee on the auto industry problems. And now he needs to go outside the committee??? WTF!

Does that perhaps mean that Democratic Senators might have been uninformed, ignorant? It seems that they didn't pay much attention to the issue.
Thank heavens.
The early retirement of this CEO was not an object for Senatorial discussion and procrastination, it was a necessity (too expensive for my taste, but necessary).

Unfortunately, we also need to focus on some spineless Dems now too. The ones gutting the budget to extend the tax for the rich...the "no change" Democrats are stuck in the past too. Our new US Senator is whining about the "deficit" in the budget, but is happy Obama is fully funding "both wars" and wishes there was "more money for agriculture" (i.e. help the tobacco industry, not food production). I feel sure she does wants to extend the tax cuts for the wealthy group...but won't say so out loud. In all, she is only suggesting things that increase the budget, but continues to whine. She may as well be Sen. Burr at this point.

I am sick of the petty democrats on the hill in our party. They are really pushing the wrong buttons right now. Cable news, or shall I say Cable "drama" was ridiculous today. I had to turn off my tv. What is the freakin' problem. President Obama let all of you people ride his coattails to victory. Start acting like it or you will rue the day I, as a staunch democrat, become an angry "liberal democrat" and help line up all new candidates for 2012. Get on the same page as President Obama and shut the hell up. We need the health care package to pass. Let the man do his job. He has a plan. Can you say that about your republican counterparts?

I wouldn't bet on the safety of the financial CEOs. After the April stress tests I anticipate the Obama team to start looking at the best way to restructure the financial companies.

This was a decision made by the Committee that was set to overlook the plans to help the Auto industry
to survive, that is why Levin wasn't asked.

Why would he?
This way the Democrats don't have to defend it, won't take any heat for it, and give their favorite excuse: "Not my fault."

Are we supposed to believe that they actually would have done anything other the standard Kabuki anyway?

A President is supposed to lead. Its safe to say, Obama was leading by not asking a Senator for his/her opinion.
