David Letterman, who infamously told Bill O'Reilly in 2006 that "about 60 percent of what you say is crap," had his old bête noire back on his show on Tuesday night.

At the start of the show, Letterman couldn't help lashing into the Fox News host, saying "I wish I was smart enough to make him look ridiculous... He's going to come out here all puffed up."

From practically the moment O'Reilly sat down, the sparks flew along with some surprising topics upon which they agreed.

"I think of you as a goon," Letterman point-blank told O'Reilly. Then, holding up the cover of O'Reilly's book, "A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity," which has a photo of O'Reilly as a boy, Letterman quipped, "I look at that and I see this sweet, adorable kid... I have a sweet adorable kid and I wonder, 'What if he too becomes a goon?'"

And Letterman launched into O'Reilly positions, such as his boycott of Sean Penn movies, giving him the ultimate back-handed compliment: "You're too smart to believe what you say."

When Letterman focused on Rush Limbaugh, implying that he's the face of the Republican party, O'Reilly alluded to the radio host's power, saying that "I don't think any Republicans or conservatives want to offend the man." And he strove to distinguish himself from Limbaugh and fellow Fox News personality Glenn Beck, claiming he's different from them because he's a journalist: "I got a degree, I paid a lot of money for... I went out, covered stories... those guys are basically entertainers... we give information"

O'Reilly also revealed that former Vice President Dick Cheney refused to come on his program, adding that he doesn't like Cheney: "We asked him a million times... he wouldn't come on."

And he laughed about the famous video of him cursing out his staff - "I have so much better stuff than that... Irish guys curse. That's in the DNA... We're loud and say bad words."

Video not available in your country --- WELCOME TO INTERNET CENSORSHIP.

I could not view in Canada and had to go to YouTube to find it.

Huffingtonpost better get their act together or lose some of their reading audience. I dont think BillO and Lettermen's conversation constitutes censorship. The more people censor and control things, the more people want to do it or see it.

Internet censorship is on the rise across the Globe. ideas are the real weapons and not guns or bombs.

SamSeven: it's not HuffPo that blocks the video, it's the network. That isn't censorship, it's business ... and broadcast laws.

O'Reilly must be some kind of masochist coming back on Letterman, given the way he got spanked last time.

Weren't you paying attention? Letterman was put in his place by the smooth Bill O'Reilly. I loved watching him not back down in front of the Letterman adoring toadies, clapping and cheering at every thing he snarled about. I'd like to see him come out from behind his big desk and go on Bill's show, with a live conservative audience. Like Jon Stewart, it's never gonna happen. They are cowards and total Obamatons.

No, not even Letterman is capable of spanking a man as intelligent as O'reilly.

O'Reilly is intelligent- no doubt about it. But Stephen Colbert spanked him pretty good when he turned O'Reilly's own personna on him. Colbert's whole schtick is emulating Bill O'Reilly. It was extremely funny, but O'Reilly is too arrogant to realize he's been spanked.

I think Letterman hit the nail on the head - i think that both Rush Limbaugh and O'Reilly are too smart to actually believe what they say,Sean Hannity on the other hand is so stupid I have no doubt he is totally sincere and believes every inane idiocy whish comes out of his mouth.

Haha, great "journalist!" At the very beginning of the interview, he says "James Carvelle and 'another guy' came up with this." Another guy!! Good research, BillO!

lol O'Reilly doesn't do any research, he gets his lackeys to do it for him. Just watch his show and wait for someone to disagree him on some fact he dug up. O'Reilly always says his people researched it, and they're the best.

Bravo, Mr. Letterman. Except that calling O'Reilly a goon gives goons a bad name.

Something isn't right here.

O'Reilly is a jerk. I know many jerks.

I would not invite them over to my house and I certainly would not invite them over to insult them.

Take the high road Dave and just ignore the jerks.

I was shocked when Dave came right out and called Bill a goon. From there on I figured that he wouldn't be making nice for the rest of the show.

Why were you shocked? This is normal behavior for Letterman. He will say the same things to someone's face that he says behind their back. Most people don't have the guts to do that.

I was disappointed. David Letterman's softball questions were more focused on Rush Limbaugh. That was so brave of Dave - to go after Rush (Who wasn't even in the room!) Letterman really didn't do much to rattle Bill O'Reilly. O'Reilly came across as slightly endearing in this clip. I am surprised that "The View" and "Late Night with David Letterman" did very little to put O'Reilly under the same harsh spotlight that the FOX News host puts on his guests. The end of the clip should have ended with back rubs; it was so smarmy!

I love Letterman! He is a genius at making stupid people look stupider, and they don't even know it's happening.

"We're loud and we say bad words. " This could be the Fox News motto.
