I Like ItI Don’t Like It

After enjoying a ladies' night at 10 Downing Street on Wednesday, the G-20 wives made a visit to the Royal Opera House in London on Thursday morning.

Michelle Obama wore what may be her most controversial outfit yet (she also caused a controversy the night before when she broke with royal protocol and touched the Queen): a denim-colored dress by Jason Wu with an argyle and sequined sweater by Junya Watanabe. She also recycled her inauguration day Jimmy Choo pumps (which she's done before).

Take a closer look and then let us know how you feel.

Terrible!!! Ugly, ugly, ugly...and why wear green shoes with a blue outfit? Green and blue are not to be worn together, at least not those two shades!

I really don't understand this "cardigan" thing.....but the dress looks lovely...

Does someone have the guts to the our first lady that she is wearing sweaters 3 sizes too small? Most of the outfits she wears are also cut a bit too small for her on top. She's a big woman on the hips and thighs, tightening the top will only make her look like a jug. I don't know about those who are being kind to her. Honesty is more of a friend then not wanting to hurt one's feelings. Sometimes she selects wonderful outfits. Price tag does not matter, but she needs to STOP wearing sweaters that are way too tight and honestly does NOT fit. This is a first major, but 4th disaster. Inaug., election night, Twist seam in the back convention night dress and last was the not so much big bow but the belt she wore with it.

The dress is nice, but the sweater is like an acid trip for argyle lovers.

Anyone would look good standing next to Sarah Brown.

Anyone.

I don't like this outfit at all (although I do love the color), but I can't help but smile about the button. Hasn't that happened to all of us at one time or another ?

I love our First Lady, Michelle, and our new President. However, this outfit is horrible. Michelle Obama is strikingly beautiful, tall, shapely, intelligent, and down to earth. But, when you are representing the country and the position of First Lady, you want to do it well. I hear the argument that she wants to give new designers a chance, and that is great, as long as they can design well for tall women. I am 5 ft 11 and can't afford top designers. I have to purchase off the rack clothes, but I do find that Jones of New York, Donna Karan, Liz Clairborne, Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfigher all make great clothing for tall women. The sweater looks like it was sewn incorrectly or she missed a button. cargyle and sequins? Who knew the two went together. The dress is cute, but doesn't go with the sweater. Also sleeveless dresses and tops are not appropriate for every occasion. I know she has great arms, but there are times to be sleeveless and times that a great suit works. I'm still giving her the benefit of the doubt, but I wish she would ditch the new designers and go back to the Michelle Obama I met at a fundraiser in Atlanta in 2007 when she was dressed in a stunning suit that I dreamed of having, not the outfits she is wearing now that is something from a nigtmare dream that you wake up screaming...take it off!

Toledo has about 3 out of every 20 outfits that are nice. Toledo must go.

Mrs. Obama and the British Prime Minister's wife could both take lessons on style. Michelle should lose the sweater and replace it with a chic jacket, and the PM' wife could wear a suit that fits her.

OMG...Just because she is Michelle Obama you people would say she looks great if she wore a potato sack! The outfit doesn't match, it looks like something she picked up at a garage sale. Please people first impressions mean alot when you are the first lady. Not only did she look like my closet, from the 1980's threw up, but she and her husband insulted our country while they were there. I sure hope Europe was impressed because I was not. It doesn't take alot of money to look good it takes common sense!! Michelle could take some lessons from a real first lady...LAURA BUSH!!!

Laura Bush was a wonderful First Lady. So is Michelle Obama, no matter what she wears. Thank goodness most of the rest of the world agrees.

Yep, I knew you were a Republican. Nothing she does would make you happy.

I'm a dem and you are correct! Sweaters are 3 sizes too small. She should try using cardigan sweaters. The only thing Michelle does not need to take is personality and manners lessons from Mrs. Bush. Mrs. Bush stood by her man while he robbed our treasury, knew it and didn't give a hoot about you.

I did not care for the outfit at all. Seemed like it had a seam going down the back of the dress that looked like someone had tried to take it in some. I did not care for the argyle styling and the sequins together. I was surprised also to see her wearing the sweaters like she did. I would have thought she might have dressed up a little more to meet the Queen and also going to 10 Downing. Michelle, you can wear the clothes but the ones I have been seeing seem to be somewhat lacking in substance.

interesting how Michelle's split design was echoed in the East Indian dress next to her. Michelle's style is NOT canned; she didn't grow up a little rich girl like Jackie O. she shows the diversity and practicality that is uniquely American. Rock on, Michelle.

Just look at our First Lady Michelle Obama. She is absolutely stunning!! And the amazing thing is, Europe loves her almost as much as we do here!

It's a great outfit and smart. looks fabulous on her - but if I were to change it - bring more of the color of the dress into the sweater - those frontal shots are unharmonious with the asymmetry and pattern being enough of a point. Having more of that teal would have tied it together. She looks great - her smile and poise could carry pretty much anything off.
