New York Post:

OPRAH Winfrey's 2006 cross-country road trip with best pal Gayle King is the basis of a new series on Oprah's new cable network.

The Oprah Winfrey Network -- OWN -- gave advertisers the first peek yesterday at some of the shows that will be on the new network.

Buried in the announcement was news that the launch of the channel, originally promised for sometime this year, has been pushed back to 2010.

I love Oprah but in 5 yrs I highly doubt if her talk show forum will still be exciting. What is she going to do? Talk her way into her 70s? I'd love to see Oprah do TV specials like Barb Walters. Walters is almost 80 yrs old.

I like Gail too but I've noticed if Oprah mentions a friend of hers on a Friday show, Gail says "he's my friend too." I think she's become such a part of Oprah's world that she lost her own professional identity as Gail King, the former news anchor. I saw Gail's old talk show and it didn't work.

Oprah even has her own store across from Harpo!!!

Oprah needs to concentrate on that African school she opened. With it being thousands of miles from Chicago, what are her future plans to run it? Seems like those decisions weren't discussed.

Oh look, no people of color on the line-up! Imagine that!

Except the always talentless (except in riding coat tails...she's an expert in that) Gail King.

It would have been great if it was a News Network channel, for we need the progressive voice to combat Fox lying News.

obviously you have never watched Fox news. Unlike Oprah who believes just about anyone with a story,James Frey, her school Faculty x2, Obama), they are interested in fact

That's not a fair criticism of Oprah. She has hundreds of people working on her staff in a country with a sky high abuse rate. She can't possibly prevent a few bad apples from slipping through. Even your hero Bill O'reilly defended her on this point. And Oprah has impeccable standards. When James Frey was caught telling lies, she dragged both him and his publisher Nan Talese back on live TV, confronted them face to face, and gave them the biggest spanking in media history. Even though the lies were trivial, Oprah's one of the few people in media who demands integrity.

Oprah has become so self- indulgent. Her "networks" promote herself, solely what she is interested in and her pals. Clearly I;'m not a fan, although I do give her props for what she has accomplished. However, she is not curing the world of cancer, she is still an entertainer.

I have a great deal of respect for Ms. Winfrey for all she's accomplished and what she's done philanthropically over the years. At the same time, she seems to have gotten a bit self-indulgent the past few years and gotten involved in too many endeavors. Over-exposure and star fatigue is setting in perhaps.

How much Oprah is too much? She has her TV show, her magazine, radio show, Oxygen, her school in Africa, and now a network and another show. Girl, cut back, retire with Stedman, and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Less is more.

Your right- too much Oprah!! She needs to go take some lessons on how to interview people without coming off as a ignorant and immature...

Don't forget she has her very own hand picked president. Add that to her list of accomplishments.
