Diana Palin, Sarah Palin's Sister-In-Law, Arrested For Breaking Into Home

UPDATE 4/13: Diana Palin, half-sister of Todd Palin, pleaded not guilty to burglary charges at the criminal superior courthouse in Palmer, Alaska Monday, People reports:

Diana, 35, is facing four felony counts of burglary and theft and four misdemeanor counts of criminal trespassing and theft stemming from two alleged break-ins at the same property on March 31 and April 2.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Police say Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's sister-in-law is accused of breaking into the same home twice to steal money.

Deputy Wasilla Police Chief Greg Wood says 35-year-old Diana Palin was arrested Thursday after she was confronted by the homeowner in the governor's hometown of Wasilla. She faces two counts of felony burglary and misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass and theft.

Wood says tire tracks and shoe prints tied Palin to another break-in Tuesday in which $400 was taken. Police have not tied Palin to another burglary at the home last week.

Governor spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton says Palin is the half sister of the governor's husband and the family has no comment.

Diana Palin's husband says his wife has a court-appointed attorney.

...that is why the GOP talking heads should keep quiet and stop attacking people that make mistakes - since this former VP candidate and family who were being held up as "Real America with family values" seem to have a lot of issues.

I remember how Fox and others attacked Brittney Spears sister when she got pregnant. As I recall Bill O said on his show that her mother was to blame. Yet it was quite OK when it hapened to Bristol.

Obama never claimed his family was perfect nor did he run on a family values platform like the Repubs. There is a difference. When you are out spewing family values while your daughter is impregnated by a guy who's mom was arrested for selling Oxycotin (I wonder if she's heard from Limbaugh yet?) and you want to claim Obama is bad for pallin' around w/ terrorists while in the meantime your family is under investigation for trying to get a state trooper fired due to divorce doesn't go down well with normal people.

Obama's relationship cannot share any comparison. He and Obama's mother parted with an understanding. There never was any circus about it. He was raised in a loving and intelligent environment.

On the other hand watching the Palin Family is like "Funniest Home Video Bloopers". Sarah Pailin is not the misunderstood maven she would like the world to believe. She's a flawed human with flawed relatives. She's not on top of things and some of her beliefs don't work ( asking her busty, sexy daughter to practice abstinence for example.) She may not have chosen this cast of Wassilian characters but she comes from the same culture that produces them. So, yes it is ironically hysterical that her image is challenged by her family's high jinks. Yes it is a shame that some of them live a hard knocks life. But image-wise would you vote for a candidate with a daughter who is unwed and has an illegitimate child, an almost in-law drug dealer and a sister-in-law robber? It would make me question her qualifications. So it's not perfection we're looking for it's a better choice than Sarah Palin.
