Obama Chia Pet Pulled From Stores

Walgreen's stores in Tampa and Chicago have pulled the "Chia Obama" from their shelves, after some customers complained the plants were racist.

According to Walgreens spokesman Robert Elfinger, Walgreen's store managers can choose products to market in their own stores. But, after the store's higher-ups began receiving complaints, they ordered the chia pets off the shelves.

The Obama Chia also made a brief appearance on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange last week.

The Chia Obama will still be available at chiaobama.com.

I agree, but tacky isn't racist. The whole ch-ch-chia thing is pretty silly but I'm sure the ppl involved wanted to make money, not seem racist.

Whats funny is the chia pet wasn't racist, till CNBC made it that way when one of their stock brokers kept putting in the camera to prove to America that Obama is a black man.

I say, KEEP THE CHIA! we can't let these rac ist Republicans run our country.

Well, other than the fact that it doesn't look like him and he certainly doesn't have green hair, I find it kindda cute. In a "pet rock" sort of way.

Now a "Tom Delay in a skirt Nancy Pelosi" chiapet I would buy in a minute!!
