I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Unlike the boos he received around this time last year, former President Bush was actually applauded while throwing out the first pitch at a Texas Rangers came in Arlington, Texas Monday. Bush used to be an owner of the team.

Check out the slideshow from yesterday's game:

Laura wasn't to be seen.
She's hiding from him in her new house.
And he doesn't have a key.

I live in Texas, not far from Arlington. Too bad I missed the game -- I would have booed and thrown a shoe or two.

You probably wouldn't have been able to get in. I bet they bussed card carrying loyal Bushies from all over Texas to make sure there'd be a friendly crowd. That's how he operated when he was in office, and I'm sure it hasn't changed.

Yep, at all his fake town hall meetings people had to sign a loyalty oath. Brain-dead or brain-washed.

I think someone should post, if they have already I apologize, how Bush when he was just a Texas businessman used his political connections to get the city of Arlington, Tx. to put up the funds for half the stadium. Funny thing is when the team got sold Bush and his cronies got all the profits with none of the original investment from the city ever repaid. It's all documented in the book in Free Lunch.

Whatever. I dont care. He can't do anything anymore, let him throw baseballs all he wants. It's not productive to sit around and worry about what he is doing. At least he's not being a d-i-c-k like his VP

No, Bush can't do anything anymore, so who cares if people boo or don't boo. Right? At least Bush was respectful of this country. At least he was patriotic. You didn't see him going abroad and calling the citizens of his own country "arrogant." You guys are so busy joining the "popular, hip" crowd and hating Bush that you will fail to see what's really happening now.

And even though I am conservative, and will not apologize for that, I would NEVER boo a president. I've been taught to respect the office. I've been taught to respect my country.

Do you identify the office and the person occupying it? Being an American means that you can respect the office and "boo" the office holder -- particularly if that person was the President of the United States and violated its Constitution. Dictators are made by "respectful" folks who don't make the distinction between person and office. Hitler was duly elected.

I would suggest that engaging us in 2 ill-conceived wars, severely diminishing our civil
liberties, corrupting our image and leadership reputation around the world, stunting our children's future and ensuring the lack of regulation beyond that which is reasonable, and handicapping our ability to realize a healthy middle class is decidedly very unpatriotic. Selecting US Attorneys based on their political persuasion and other non-work related preferences is unpatriotic. Torture is not only unAmerican, it is against every international ideal that we have been instrumental in developing and protecting.

Booing the last leader pales in comparison to the horrific behaviors and systemic suppression we have endured... Arrogance is always wrong, and especially that which was so prevalent in the prior administration, and was so embarrassingly depicted with the neck rub that still gives me the shudders - icky! There was wanton arrogance and disrespect to be sure, and it was so unpatriotic as it was unleashed against us!

Boo, throw another shoe, stay vigilant, do not wavering in monitoring and be patriotic by holding all elected officials accountable, and voting everybody, please!

I don't remember him from Viet Nam. I was there. Where was he? Where was dick Cheney? I guess all that respect and patriotism kicked in real late in their lives. Booo...

Didn't he say that this job was the most stressful while he was in office - throwing a pitch?
He didn't have to practice a whole lot to throw the game for the rest of us Americans.
He's got balls, I'll say that!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:26 PM on 04/07/2009

Clueless. Amazing that he still doesn't get it. He would be too ashamed to show his face if he had any appreciation for the damage that his administration did to this country.

Of course he didn't get booed, this is Texas, the hot bed for high end red necks for which he he is a charter member

He didn't get booed because he walked out with U.S. troops as cover. His people know the crowd would never boo our servicemen and women. Pathetic.

But what a difference in Iraq today-- now we have a real Commander in Chief!

The man is boo-lshit to the core. The castigation he deserves might as well be omnipresent and everlasting, if it didn't haunt our senses so.
