I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Unlike the boos he received around this time last year, former President Bush was actually applauded while throwing out the first pitch at a Texas Rangers came in Arlington, Texas Monday. Bush used to be an owner of the team.

Check out the slideshow from yesterday's game:

Figures. Rangers sux so bad tickets are going for as little as $2, so it's apropos that dubya would throw the first pitch. Underperfoming team, underperforming ex-prez.

The hate here is palpable. People, President Bush's mistakes, real or imagined, do not rise to the levels being posted here. He is a decent man who deeply loves his country. I would have not made some of the decisions he did, but I'm confident his motives were genuine.

Give the vitriol a rest. Let's now focus on President Obama and the tasks ahead.

'His motives are genuine' - sure, he is too stupid to pull a Bernie Madoff on us. That's about the best you could say about W.

he is a war criminal and a mass murderer. I will not give it a rest until he is incarcerated as he deserves to be.

Tell the families of the Iraqis dead because of his contrived war based on lies how decent he is.

This JagOff's original, post-Gov ambition was to be the Commissioner of Baseball, until George Schultz got the bright idea of inviting him to run for the White House.

Looks like another shoo-in for some worthless job elsewhere, like throwing out baseballs.

Bush didn't get booed.....................

Could that be because he's no longer making decisions for us?

As long as he remains in Texas, he'll be okay.

As much as I have abhorred the Bush administration's policies over the years, I would rather we not boo a former president, no matter how much we'd like to...

I agree, booing is way to good for the mass deceiver, and war criminal.

The Peruvian courts just found their former President Fujimoro guilty of ordering the massacre of 25 people and I believe he faces 30 years in prison (which for him would be a life sentence). Would we say that the Peruvians failed to respect the office of the president by subjecting a former president to such humiliation - or do presidents lose that respect when they break the law?

George Bush does not inherently have our respect. If his service to this country earns him our respect, great. But I don't find that the way he conducted himself during the Vietnam War of in his years in elected office, or any other time for that matter, are cause for our respect or reverence.

Well, of course, he was applauded.Do you think he would dare throw out the
ball anywhere but Texas? Bush has always been a coward and this is just
another example of going where he felt safe. Although I must say that the
Texans disappoint me with their foolish forgiveness. This man should not be
allowed to be involved in anything as American as baseball.

c'mon cloudmaker...some Texans would not disappont you. We have a great Obama organization here in Dallas and, if you didn't know, even though the state came out red, most of Dallas voted BLUE.

Exactly. I live in Downtown Dallas and volunteered for the Obama campaign at the Southside on Lamar. Bush is Bush, I think we should focus on the future not the past.
Who cares if he pitches at the Rangers games and goes to Elliot's Hardware for nuts and bolts? I mean really.

We worked are asses off for Obama and what is more we are still working! The situation in Texas is not without hope. The Urban areas pretty much all went to Obama. Even if we don't get a win next time we will cause the thugs to expend effort and money here just to hold the line and that will help in other states. OBAMA 2012!!!!!!

Okay, people, I live in Dallas, Texas. Don't be so harsh on "dem dare Texicans", not all of us feel amorous to the former president. I wasn't at the game. I wouldn't have booed him but I clearly cant' stand him. What good would it do to boo the man? He's done. We need to be positive and hopeful and move forward. Just my thoughts.

Absolutely correct. Lets get him a congressional medal for murdering over 1,000,000 Iraqis and 4,000 American soldiers.
I'll applaud him when he goes to the state capital and says all those on death row should be freed and allowed to throw out the first pitch at ranger ball games. Surely they're less guilty than he is.
