I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Unlike the boos he received around this time last year, former President Bush was actually applauded while throwing out the first pitch at a Texas Rangers came in Arlington, Texas Monday. Bush used to be an owner of the team.

Check out the slideshow from yesterday's game:

Wow -- you mean he came out of his spider hole? I wonder how long it took them to sober him up long enough to go to the game.

The Texans who came to the ball park were the ones who didn't lose their homes and whose children didn't die in Iraq, and weren't in the towers when they were hit, and didn't invest with Bernie Madoff and didn't go on any hunting trips with Dick Chaney.

Considering the first pitch was thrown in Texas, did we really expect booing?

Them there Texicans are big on actions, short on thinking.

They've forgotten how he sunk the Ranger team, when he owned it.
They sure don't want to remember the hatchet job on the Country.

Or maybe, they were cheering, cause they knew he wasn't really gonna pitch.

You mean when he pretended that the country wasnt in a recession because it was an election year. The recession started from the first quarter of 2008 but Bush and his Faux News Neocons refused to admit it only when the Banks started to collapse and they couldnt hide it anymore that the public realised that we were really in a recession.

Indeed - stay away from PA. Had enough trouble after each of the Palin rallies, but we creamed the rethugs.

BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Stay away from Pennsylvania buddy. You will get a much different reaction. Remember we booed Palin and her six year old at a Flyers game...most likely would not have any issue with booing Dubya! This is the place that threw snowballs at Santa.

I hope there arent many areas in the US outside of Washington DC that would boo the POTUS, regardless of who it is or what they think of him.

btw, just because someone doesnt boo, doesnt mean that they support him. It might just mean they are respectful or polite. Also, there arent a whole lot of rowdy crowds in Texas. Go to a Cowboys game for example, and the crowd will get loud but not nearly as loud as most other places.

as far as all of the comments about him being in Texas....Arlington is a suburb of Dallas and it is considered overly conservative. However, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin (of course), and El Paso were all blue in the election. So people shouldnt be acting like there arent a whole lot of progressives in Texas.

He didn't get booed because people in Texas don't read the news. They are totally clueless.

Didn't that great clueless Dem LBJ come from Texas???

Hey, he is one of the primary reasons why I am not drinking from a different water fountain than you are. Whether you approved of the Vietnam war or not, Kennedy did not have the relations with Congress to get any of the civil rights bills passed, also he needed the South to win. It is one thing to promise things (though I love Kennedy with all my heart), but it is a whole different ball game to actually pass them. I respect LBJ solely because of the Great Society programs and civil rights.

LBJ is dead. If he were alive and at the baseball game, I'm sure he would be yelling boo very loudly.

Texas is absolutely the only place he wouldn't have been tarred and feathered. My wish is that the rangers are now cursed and they never have another winning season from this point forward. Like the goat in Chicago, shrub will always be a millstone around the necks of any texan team that takes the field.

This patronizing attitude is really astounding. Look at the states that went for him in 2004 and the states that went for McCain in 2008, however reduced. The notion that only isolated pockets of mentally deranged people vote for Republicans is the hubris that always leads to the Democrats' congressional electoral downfalls. Almost 60,000,000 people and 22 states still voted for a candidate everyone knew would lose, and this when Obama was effectively ordained president months before the election.

sure i respect those folks who LEGALLY achieve the office of POTUS. Bush and his cohorts effectively sponsored a co.op TWICE. He's lucky he only gets boo's and not a hangmans noose.

Sorrow CUL8R, but that is mindless babble. Respecting the office does not mean you have to show deference to every occupent in the office, precisely the opposite. If he has brought shame and infamy upon the office, I see no reason to show him respect. I respect the office of POTUS by spitting (among other things) on GW Bush.
