I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Fox News' Neil Cavuto reported Tuesday that the tax day tea party movement is being "infiltrated" by well-organized liberals out to destroy it.

"Only eight days before a nationwide tea party, some over-caffeinated crashers aiming to lay waste to it," Cavuto said. "Reports of very well-organized infiltrators trying to mix in and rain on this parade. Talk about taxing."

Cavuto's infiltrators are none other than 2008 electoral boogeyman ACORN and the Huffington Post, which has repeatedly asked readers to sign up as "citizen journalists" to help us cover the many-hundred tax day events. (Cavuto's characterization is accurate to the extent "infiltrate" is a synonym for "attend"). Fox News will also be "infiltrating" tax day tea parties with live all-day coverage in four cities.

If you're interested in helping us cover a tax day tea party, click here to sign up. Contrary to the way Cavuto puts it, we want accounts of what's happening on the ground, not counter-protest or disruption.

"How seriously do you take these threats?" Cavuto asked one of the tea party organizers he had on his show.

"Honestly, Neil, we don't take them very seriously at all."

The Huffington Post wants to have citizen journalists at as many of these events as possible. If you think you'd be interested in attending one of the Tea Parties and reporting back to us with dispatches, photos, or video, click here to sign up. We'll contact you shortly with further instructions.

I've been watching Fox News reports and CNN as they use spokespersons for the 'teabagging' parties. The spokespeople are calling this a 'grassroots' movement.

All I can do is LOL and shake my head. This is not a grassroots movement. It's nothing more than a nutball right wing distraction job and we all know it. Every single one of their arguments has holes in it a mile wide. All of the spokespeople are members of, or paid by, neocon groups. All the people identifiable at the rallies are McCain and Bush supporters. One of the people at the rally had a sign that said 'Don't blame me, I voted for Sarah'.

Really, neocons. Do you really think you're going to win with another red herring? Really? Are you all really that stupid?

Oh wait. Don't say anything. The answer is a resounding yes. You guys really are that stupid.

I know someone that is going to do well with the Tea Partys - Lipton (I knew I should have bought some stock - I bet it went up - Thanks teabagers - you just stimulated the Tea market while showing you true selfs)
As far as The Republican News Network (Fox ) - I never watch them anyhow.

I see - just as seriously as we take the tea parties. Not at all.

How can you take a bunch of people seriously that call themselves teabaggers? These people don't even have a clue what the slang term refers. to.

By all means people - call yourself "teabaggers"

LOL!

Quote: "They (the infiltrators) don't have a message that resonates with the American people..."

He's kidding, right? I think these talking heads are sniffing glue--or something.

The majority of us elected the guy with a message that resonates with the American people, and now that President is acting on that message. Game over.

I think someone should go toss sugar cubes and spoons at them. But that would be a waste of sugar cubes and spoons.

Well, no lie, folks, the rabble is being roused -- any of y'all plan to attend the festivities I'd advise to be careful and try to draw attention to yerselves. Some of them folks are achin' to bust heads.

Not one mention from any of these guys that it's a free country and anyone is free to attend and say or do anything they want, as long as it stays within the law. And what an obvious attempt by Cavuto to control the message of the interview and push the fear of so-called infiltrators and saboteurs with made up conjecture and rabble-rousing. Good grief.

I may go to one of these parties, stand up and say: "I make much more than $250,000 a year, and I'd be glad to pay more taxes, because I think it's my duty as an American to share my wealth!" Do you think I might get shot?

*GASP* Oh No! You said the evil 's' word! Share. That's like sedition or insurrection or something (but only if your a progressive). Wear Kevlar and leave your wallet at home because after they shoot you they're sure to rob you for your mutinous language against their perfectly acceptable treasonous behaviour.

In their minds, sharing = (socialism) or (communism) or (marxism).

I think you will get shot. But most of us here will admire you for doing your fair share to help our country. (And when I make that much money I will, too.)

You know if it were 1942 and there were people protesting paying taxes when the majority of their tax dollars were being spent protecting the country, they would have been boo'd out of town--not held up in the press like they were heros.

My parents not only paid their taxes, but people rationed, bought bonds, and contributed to the war effort. They didn't hide money in overseas tax shelters. And the income tax rates in 1942 were a heck of a lot higher. My dad served in a war without getting $180,000/year to drive truck like the Halliburton contractors, or over a $1 million/year for a demolitions expert, or $250,000+ for an electrician. 40% of the Americans in Iraq are contractors who've been getting paid pretty well for their time. Our troops--well, not so much--which is why a % of them end up as Blackwater contractors.

So, if those tea party folks want to protest something, maybe they should protest the war that got us here. That's where 43% of our federal income tax dollars go.

Joe the Plumber

Where's Joe the Plumber?

We need honest, straight forward citizens like Joe the Plumber to do some tea bagging.

If these people were so concerned about government spending, then why didn't we see these Tea Party events under the Bush years??

This sounds like Faux outrage to me.

why would it be a problem to have liberals show up? why would it be considered infiltration? if the people having the tea party have the right to voice their opinions, why would any one else with a differing opinion be unable to voice that differing opinion?

I was planning on going and reporting. "Infiltrating" sounds much more exciting than "send a few tweets" and "take a few pictures" I should break out my catsuit for the occasion.

Well, you know it isn't a REAL protest until plainclothes cops "infultrate" the crowds and start acting like anarchists (and dropping tear gas containers to incite a stampede), turning your entire movement into something the nation scoffs at.
At least that's been the experience of liberal protesters over the last two decades (see the anti-globalization movement and numerous political protests- - i.e. outside the debate halls or national convention halls.
