Glenn Beck: FEMA Concentration Camps Do Not Exist (VIDEO)

On his show Monday, Glenn Beck enlisted the help of Popular Mechanics to debunk an internet rumor that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) operates concentration camps in the United States.

Beck, known for his apocalyptic views, had come under fire for mentioning FEMA camps, though he claims to have always doubted their existence and promised to either show viewers the camps or prove that they didn't exist.

Monday, he appears to have done the latter.

Beck hosted Popular Mechanics editor-in-chief James Meigs, who reported that, based on his magazine's independent investigation, videos on the internet said to have been of FEMA concentration camps actually included footage of an Amtrak repair facility in Beach Grove, Indiana. The video reportedly comes from a woman tied to Timothy McVeigh's militia group.

"There is enough out there," Beck said. "We don't need to make stuff up."

I did a little snooping. It seems there are indeed FEMA detention centers all over the country. One was used for those nasties rioting in Seattle at the WTO protests. A couple years ago, Halliburton subsidiary KBR was given a $385 million contract to build such facilities.

But why all the fuss? Why use ugly words like "concentration camp?"

as a former mobile home owner, anyone who buys one should know/have known that HCHO is used in their manufacture!! I do not understand why this has been an issue--or a shock!!!

I don't believe that these individuals "purchased" these mobile homes. They were the option offered by FEMA.

If the govt regulated the mfg of these homes the govt and FEMA would have been aware of their toxicity.

I believe the issue is that the FEMA trailers had levels that were dangerous to the humans living in it, making them and their children sick. Chronic coughs and bloody noses shouldn't be the norm because you live in a mobile home. Besides, most of the people who lived in them wouldn't know about HCHO because before Katrina they had a house and/or home.
