Levi Johnston On CBS: Palins Treated Me Like An Outcast After Election

WASHINGTON — The father of Bristol Palin's baby boy says he's been treated like an outcast since the end of Gov. Sarah Palin's run for vice president.

Appearing in an interview broadcast Wednesday on CBS's "The Early Show," Levi Johnston said he felt a need to "get my side of the story out there."

A worsening feud has developed between the 19-year-old Johnston and the governor's family in the wake of Johnston's complaints about not being able see his young son Tripp, often enough. Now there is a dispute about whether Johnston had actually lived with the Palins. Palin denies that he did; Johnston's family says the Palins are lying.

Johnston says that the biggest misconception about him is that his family is "probably that my family's white trash." He called the Palins "snobby."

Bristol Palin is Sarah Palin's daughter, and at one point she had agree to marry Johnston, but that is now off. Johnston said he was heartbroken by the split.

Johnston said he "wouldn't call any baby a mistake. I love him more than anything. I wouldn't trade him for the world." Tripp was born Dec. 27.

On the other hand, Sarah was right. Bristol is showing the world what it is like to be a teen mother. This is the best teaching moment for anyone with teenage kids to abstain or practice safe sex, every time.

You know, these people need to grow the hell up and do what is best for this baby who had no choice about being born into this family. Sarah needs to stop interfering with Bristol and Levi, who ARE the parents. Her political choices and big mouth are hurting this baby's present and future. What a nightmare of a situation!

As for blaming Levi for 'knocking up Bristol', give it a rest. If her mother had been less judgmental and insisted her daughter go on birth control none of this would probably have ever happened. But she still continues to live in denial then blame the young man. Sorry, but every one makes mistakes and Sarah your daughter made a mistake of getting pregnant but her child is not a mistake. That family needs to let Levi be the dad and be with his son as often as he wants--it is his right and that baby's to be around his dad. The Palin's need to stop using the baby as a pawn and stop trying to 'shame' their grandson's father. One day that will come back and bite them in the a. s. s.

Most of the time, mothers don't know how to do that. It's like they try to make up for lost time once their daughter gets knocked up, when they should have been nosy beforehand. Sarah Palin did not come out with a comment until Levi went on Tyra with too many details. Levi needs to act like a man. I am sure baby Tripp will be thrilled to hear what he said to Tyra about how he was conceived when he grows up. The obsession with Sarah Palin here is very telling.

You know I was pretty impressed with the young man and the way he carried himself during this interview, but I lost some of the sparkle when the interviewer said he was open to modeling and acting jobs. All of those "15 min of fame who want more" always end up saying that don't they?

You never heard Levi say that, and you never heard anyone ask him about that. It's possible that someone before or after the interview asked if he was interested in doing somethink like that, but it never came up in the interview and only the pushy interviewer mentioned it.

If I were to choose whether to believe CBS News or some random kid who wasn't being paid, I know which I'd choose. I'm sure Levi doesn't want to leave Alaska and his son.

I said months ago that Sarah Palin and the campaigns were using this whole situation as a prop and that I felt sorry for Bristol and Levi. Their "engagement" was probably forced on them because of the veep campaign and the untimeliness of the pregnancy, and because of everything that has gone down since, including the veep loss, Levi and Bristol are paying the price. I totally blame the Palins for this unholy mess, and I still feel sorry for Levi. He may have gotten into trouble, but the baby is here now, and the Palins really strike me as being sore losers all the way around. I hope Levi pulls himself together so he can provide well for Tripp, and continues to fight for his rights as a father. What a mess.

After seeing the interview, I feel sorry for Levi. Yes, his 15 minutes of fame has expired...But he is the father of Tripp...That will never change...Thank God Sarah Palin isn't the Vice President...He was just a prop during the campaign...I hope justice prevail... The boy is only 19...My advice to Levi, as a former single dad, Go to college. Get your mind focus on your future and the future of your son, Tripp. Believe me all this drama will come to pass and I won't be surprise if you and Bristol get back together, stranger things has happen, like Grandama Sarah Pallin running for Vice President. You have to do for youself Levi and now is the time to get into a trade. learn it and be successful, without the interference of the Palin's. Maybe you will have to live and get your education out of state, so be it, but get it and move on with your life.

When you are able to handle the some of the expenses, do so, after it has been determined baby Bristol had is actually yours. The Palin's can be a little strange about babies and who they belong to.
