Prince Propositions Salma Hayek In New Song

Prince has the hots for Salma Hayek. As Us Weekly points out, the Jehovah's Witness praises the star in his new song "Valentina," which happens to be the name of Hayek's 18-month-old daughter.

"Hey Valentina, tell your mama she should give me a call/ When she get tired of runnin' after you down the hall/And she's all worn out from those late-night feedings/and she's ready for another rock and roll meeting," the lyrics go.

Prince also expresses interest in Hayek's good pal Penelope Cruz.

"If Penelope wants to Cruz there ain't no way that we ain't gon' dance," Prince sings.

Hayek has served as musical muse before. Boy band O-Town serenaded Salma in 2001's "Liquid Dreams":

Amandla is right, at least when it comes to the guitar - Prince absolutely rips it! Truly one of the great, underrated guitarist. I saw him on Leno a week or so ago, and he was ridiculous. Palemoon, if you can play circles around him, then you may be the greatest guitarist to ever live (although I doubt you can, or are).

Are you serious? If you think the number of frets and strings have ANYTHING to do with talent you've probably never picked up an axe. Vinnie Vincent?! Chuck Schuldiner?! I like the occasional death metal blast, but Prince has 1000x times the versatility and songwriting ability of just about everyone on your list. The final disgrace is the absolutely beyond laughable inclusion of Lita Ford, an 80's pop metal queen who knew about 8 power chords. Good Lord.....

Prince is, hands down, the most talented musician to ever walk the face of the earth. Period. This is not hyperbole or exaggeration. Most professional musicians (myself included) will tell you the same, even legendary musicians who preceded him in fame. Prince's bands over the years have always known that they had better be trump-tight because Prince would come over and play their part for them.
For those who are younger (I'm 37) and aren't familiar with this man's phenomenal skill on any dozens of instruments and his songwriting genius, you should know that there aren't ANY musicians alive today that you are listening to who weren't influenced by this man.
He has his haters (especially young rock heads), but they don't know that their favorite rockers drool over Prince too. Like Michael Jordan to basketball, there will never be another with such skill. Ever.

Prince claims to be a virtuoso on what, 24 instruments? He's never played one long enough to make me be able to tell if he's anything other than rank amateur at best.

People are crazy...Prince is the man...A little eccentric, but I challenge anyone to find a professional musician out there that doesn't think Prince is a great musician and song writer. He is one of the best of our generation....His attitude alienated many fans, but his base is strong and will always be fans, including me.

Agreed. Listen, I don't particularly like a lot of his music, but you know what...I appreciate him for who he is and I can see his talent. He's a genius. It's not always to my tastes, but I can see the artistic, visionary he is. And he is one of the greats and one that will be listened to for years.
