Earth Day is a great time to make forward-looking changes at home. Maybe you've been waiting to insulate, or you've been thinking about upgrading to appliances that take less energy. Great! Now's the time.

And if it weren't already made obvious by the fact that the federal government is stepping up, these people want to lead you to a greener life, too. Check out the deals:

INTERNET
Amazon.com has a whole lot of Earth Day deals for the whole month of April.

Simple Shoes is offering free "Stop Global Warming" flip-flops with other purchases.

Etsy will be having a big vintage sale:

The Etsy Vintage Market Team is having a huge vintage sale to celebrate Earth Day, which is next Wednesday April 22. The team is having a week long sale in honor of Mother Earth starting Monday, April 20th and running through Saturday, April 25th. You can save anywhere from 20-50% off of hundreds of vintage items! Just visit Etsy and use the search term "vmteamearth".

OrganicBouquet.com offers 20% sitewide savings in honor of Earth Day.

Seventh Generation has coupons you can -- eep -- print.

This site will help you get started with reusable bags if you haven't already got any -- "Buy 3 pouches, get 1 free" when you use the promotion code TWITTERSAX. Deal is good April 17-23.

CALIFORNIA

The Sears deal:

If you're in the Los Angeles or Orange County area, you can get a home energy audit for $99 between April 20 and April 26.

CALIFORNIA AND ARIZONA

Residential solar installation deal:

SolarCity has extended their "Think Half" promotion, which means that you can install solar panels for half the regular price, including services, monitoring, installation and a guarantee. The deal is available in California and Arizona, and of course state and utility rebates mean the deal is slightly different in each location. The deal includes the federal tax credit, a utility rebate, a state tax credit and a special discount from SolarCity.

MISSOURI

And Missouri has an Energy Star tax holiday!

From April 19-25, the state is waving its 4.225 percent sales tax on washing machines, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, water heaters, furnaces and air conditioners if the new appliance is Energy Star-certified. Nine counties and just over 50 cities also are waving their sales taxes for the week.

If you know of other deals, let us know in the comments or ping me on twitter.

The Equations of Conservation:

Fuel Prices Go UP = Oil Demand Goes Down
Oil Demand Goes Down = Oil Prices Go Down
Green Alternatives = Oil Demand Goes Down = Oil Prices Go Down
Conservation = Oil Demand Goes Down = Oil Prices Go Down
Autos from 12-20 MPG to 40-65 MPG = Oil Demand Goes Way Down = Oil Prices Go Down

Any way you slice it = Sell Big OIL!
