CHICAGO — The news is hitting Chicago deep dish pizza makers' eye like a big pizza pie.

President Barack Obama is having 140 people over to the White House Friday night for a some deep-dish pizza _ St. Louis deep dish pizza.

It seems during his campaign he had pizza from a restaurant called Pi in St. Louis. That's the story Pi assistant manager Lindsey Tornetto tells.

Whatever happened, the restaurant says the owner and his partner packed dough, cheese and pizza pans in their suitcases and flew to Washington.

It all has Marc Malnati _ owner of 30 Lou Malnati's Pizzarias in the Chicago area _ shaking his head. He says he likes Obama's economic policy, but thinks the president's pizza policy should change.

Was this one of Pi's pizza's in the photo ... can somebody get me the name of the person that made the pizza in the photo ... look at that thing ooozzing cheese and crust. There's a fierce almost feral look on Obama's face as he bites into it.

I want the name of the place that made "that" pizza ... (smile)

This is completely silly He can order pizza from where he wants
to. Bush did what he wanted when he wanted to and noone said
a word. Clinton had a sweetie in the whitehouse, NO Reporter saw
or reported that. Leave My President alone.

No reporter said anything about Lewinski? Were you living in another country at that time?

Actually edwarvir is correct. No reporter saw Lewinsky and Clinton. It was only after Lewinsky told Linda Tripp about her dirty little secret & blue dress and then it was investigated by reporters and Ken Starr.

The phony outrage will continue to move the G.OP deeper into the bowels of history where it belongs. You complainers have no idea how this was paid for, but you want to lob criticism over anything. You're grasping at straws here, and you look desperate. Seriously, you would be smart to tone down the phony outrage for a while. You might appear to make more sense to others outside of your Fox News watching clan.

And sadly enough, this is actually one of their more intelligent examples of phony outrage.

Actually, YOU didn't pay for it. The pizza owner is paying for everything, including his own commerical air fare to deliver it.

Now, what's your complaint?

Before any of you get all worked up... I voted for the man, but isn't it a bit excessive to order pizza from St. Louis for dinner. Hello.... Who is footing the bill for this extravagance during an economic depression?
I for one think it is a bit Marie Antoinette.

If you truly support President Obama as you've claimed, then you would know he would never put such a personalized expense on the public dole, especially during these economic times. It would make him look totally foolish and would give the ReTHUGs derisive fodder against him. After all, the Obamas ARE millionaires...he can certainly afford to do this on his own nickel if he chooses. Have a little more faith in our President...if you truly support him.

I prefer trust but verified. I think that is what being a good citizen is all about. Blind faith in anyone or anything is dangerous. Eyes wide open.

The owner was on MSNBC. He said his girlfriend lives in DC. He was going to visit her anyway . . . via commercial plane (so not adding to the carbon footprint, as some wingers claim to worry about).

He pointed out that this is not costing the taxpayer a dime. The president stopped in his parlor on the campaign trail and said he loved his pizza. So the owner offered to do this for the president and the president accepted.

The owner is paying for EVERYTHING himself, including plane tickets--because he "loves the preisdent and it's an honor to do this for him."

It's also great advertisement for his business. No other way would he make national news

I love deep dish but I would never reject a slice from NY. Pizza is pizza is pizza as long as it has lots of cheese. :-)

This is beyond deep dish, it's Chicago style. It's like a pizza on top of a pizza, but tastes better than that.

When I lived in Chicago, I must have put on 15 pounds eating Giordano's deep dish pizza. It's the best. I lost the weight when I moved back to the East Coast. Searched NY for something similar, no luck.

Even after I left Chicago, if there was enough layover time, I'd order a deep dish and talk them into delivering it to O'hare. That was before all of the security. Made quite a conversation piece on my flight.

So he can only eat one type of pizza, have one type of dog, etc ? My God, when will this end? Do the complainers realise that being human is what he is first before being President?
