Colombia's Uribe Pushes To Outlaw Personal Drug Use

The Colombian Congress this month will begin discussing a bill introduced by the government that would prohibit possession of any drug and would punish addicts and drug users with mandatory clinical treatment.

Uribe was one of Dubya's international pets, his only in LatAm, so it's no surprise that he's still trying to implement master's recycled policies. Incidentally, just as Kharzai has been linked to heroin trafficking in Afghanistan, Uribe has STRONG links with the cocaine trade (plus, somewhat amusingly, his campaign and apparently his own grown children had direct ties with the Colombian version of Bernie Madoff, just as the Enron people were in cahoots with W and Cheney).

Maybe Uribe is still processing the fact that Dubya is gone, who knows.
