The Daily Beast:

Spanish prosecutors have decided to press forward with a criminal investigation targeting former U.S. attorney general Alberto Gonzales and five top associates over their role in the torture of five Spanish citizens held at Guantánamo, several reliable sources close to the investigation have told The Daily Beast. Their decision is expected to be announced on Tuesday before the Spanish central criminal court, the Audencia Nacional, in Madrid. But the decision is likely to raise concerns with the human rights community on other points: they will seek to have the case referred to a different judge.

For those who say that Spain is wrong to investigate those who advised the administration about the legality of torture which implies foreknowledge of the intent to torture

Nuremberg Trials - four prosecuting countries USA, France, Britain, Russia

Walter Funk - president of Reichsbank, Hitler's press chief, Minister of Economics. Found guilty of war crimes and given a life sentence

Joachim von Ribbentrop - Hitler's Foreign Minister, recommended and supported the deportation of Jews from France and Italy to the camps. Hanged by the neck.

Wilhelm Keitel - Chief of Staff, responsible for the "Night and Fog" decrees of 1941 which resulted, in the summary execution without court martial or trial, of military prisoners-of-war. Keitel declared his loyalty, as a soldier, to his commander-in- chief. Hanged by the neck.

Alfred Rosenberg - Hitler's chief racial ideologist, admitted knowledge of the Einsatzgruppen's extermination of Jews, admitted participating in the forced labor programs involving of subjugated people in the eastern Occupied Territories. Hanged by the neck.

Baldur von Schirach - Shirach's antisemitism was drawn primarily from Henry Ford's The International Jew. he knew and approved the deportation of Jews from Vienna to the extermination camps. He also knew of the Einsatzgruppen's mobile van extermination of Jews in eastern Poland. 20 years in prison.

I am thankful to Spain for having the integrity and moral courage that our politicians and government officials do not have.

Then arrest Obama and his cronies. They've continued all of bush's policies.

Wow, I'm glad to see you've come out of your coma and I have some very good news for you, indeed. On January 23, 2009, president Obama signed an executive order that will close Gitmo within one year. Have some of your friends and family tell you about some of the other really great things our president is trying to get done. The biggest problem he is facing so far is to overcome the lies and obstructionism foisted on him by conservatives and members of the Republican Party.

Here is one vote that Fredo Gonzales and the rest of his gang be arrested and sent to Spain where they should be questioned using the same techniques that they authorized for the prisoners in Guantánamo. After all, it would only be true poetic justice if confessions were extracted using the methods that Fredo and his buddies approved.

what an incredible attack on the advisors to the President ... ADVISORS not officials that make decisions... this is like an attack on the U.S.

No, it's like what we should have done ourselves to preserve justice - which we have now lost.

According to the U.N. the U.S. let Spain interrogate guantanamo inmates as well as France, Germany, Britain, Italy, and Jordon. Is this a case of the frying pan calling the kettle black.?

Excellent but too bad for the image of US justice, or non-justice. I wonder how many of the six even have passports? The Bush Six or the Bush Dix?
I guess this will be huge news on FOX. O'Reilly, the Loofah Man, Vanity Hannity and Crazy Beck will surely make this news item a priority on their shows for weeks to come. What's that I hear.....silence?

So the question becomes,

How do we get these guys to Spain? Here's my idea.

don't think those ideas will work, but this one just might do it since they're all so hungry for validation.

We send them all notices that the tiny principality of Andorra, hard on the Spanish/French border in the Pyrennes, has decided to award all of them this decoration:

http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/5134/comandorra.jpg

The Commander of the Andorran Order of Merit.

You schedule the ceremony for mid-winter. There are no airports in Andorra and only three roads out of the country, one into France and two into Spain. Once they all arrive in Vella de Andorra, a freak avalanche/high explosive charge closes the only road out to France.

"Gee guys, this happens every winter. sometimes it takes a few hours to open the road, sometimes a few weeks, sometimes a few months. Don't worry, we've changed your reservations to fly out of Madrid."

Then you station the Guardia Civil to stakeout both roads into Spain and wait.

How can anyone support these indictments. Think about it. These are lawyers who gave advice. They did not torture. They did not give an order to torture.

Where to start?

Giving advice that t0rture is legal is a crime. Particularly when anyone with the remotest clue knows that you are lying. Nuremberg W. ar Crimes Trials of the Germans after WWII set the standard.

And these b0z0s are going to fry.

Never mind that the Ne0c0n m0r0ns have single-handedly destroyed the US and its influence in the world. Which may turn out to be good. But in the short term introduces huge economic destruction, immense suffering for billions of people and the very real risk of global war.

See Peter Dale Scott for details on the latter -

So should we prosecute attorneys in the current administration who have advised that wire tapping is okay after all? That overseas prisons are fine, as long as gitmo is closed?
