This Governor is the stupidest in the country. Yes, behind Palin, behind Jindal, and even behind Sanford. He's putting the state's economic health on life support because he's got a tough race for re-election against Senator Hutchison. Both are imbeciles. But Perry is so far right, Atilla the Hun is scared of this guy's insanity. This clown, in addition to being such a 'patriot', has moved no legislation through other than to get a Voter ID bill passed, one that solves a problem that doesn't exist, voter fraud. It's the most important thing for Republicans to do here, to suppress Hispanic voting. And they won. And now they're moving a bill to allow guns on the campuses of its Universities where they have been banned to date. Specifically at the University of Texas at Austin, where we had the worse killing spree until Virginia Tech when we had a crazy go off from our tower. But these are the items Perry is pushing, not money for Texans who are unemployed; not new jobs to be created with the stimulus funds. This is our Governor and we're just SO proud.

This is a "class war" and has been for 50 years or more. George was wrong because he decimated the middle class and dumped the poor! The premise of the right has consistently been that the Nation should "stop funding" anything that would help the people who need help the most, positing that we could "save money" in the long term.
The simple reality is; doing nothing to help has a cost of its own! In more graphic terms; It costs just as much to bury a man as it does to give him an education and help provide a means for him to survive.
The "State" has no interest in "consuming" our freedom, but the Wealthy want it all to themselves.
I don't know about you, but I only saw ONE CANDIDATE that was even willing to talk about insuring the social "Safety Net" stayed in place, and he is DELIVERING on the promise daily.
For me, that is as good an effort as I could hope for.
Perry obviously sees himself as the Great White Hope, of the Republican Party, the anti-Jindal from the South, so to speak. Next he'll be waving his flaming cross with the best of the "protester" crazies.

Okay, let me get this straight. These events are popping up "simultaneously" around the nation according to this article. The article then goes on to say that Dick Armey's organization is sponsoring some of them. Doesn't sound simultaneous to me.

Remember poor Dick Nixon, he had to see "Deep Throat" 5 times before he got it down pat, got the plot down pat. Nixon was more into sports, not movies.
Though the GOP has dramatic moments (OK, months & years with Watergate & W's War on Terror): but GOP politicians & operatives get flustered, miss their cues & blow their lines all of the time.
If he doesn't like it, then he can turn down ALL the federal money that goes to Texas -- the stimulus, student loans, home loans, the NASA Space Center in Houston, over a dozen military bases and offices for dozens of federal agencies, money for Katrina victims.
Yes, take ALL federal dollars away from Texas and see how popular he'll be among the tens of people who attend the teabag party with him.
